Sentry, an app that has been providing civilians with early warning system against airstrikes during the civil war in Syria, has switched from using Ethereum to Hedera Hashgraph. Hala Systems has stopped usage of Ethereum in favor of the Hedera Consensus Service, having found the former to be insufficiently tamper-proof. Launched in 2016 by Hala Systems, Inc., Sentry is using a sensor network, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence to provide a strong, technological underpinning for analyzing data on the ground and distributing critical alerts. The system issues an average of 140 early warnings a day, giving notice of dangers between 7-10 minutes’ advance.
