Privacy-focused browser Brave has partnered with Japan’s major exchange BitFlyer to develop a crypto wallet for Japanese users. According to Kenichi Nishimura, head of marketing at BitFlyer, partnership aims to make crypto accessible to more people in Japan. As the browser currently cannot reward Japanese users its native basic attention token (BAT) due to local regulations, the they are currently offering BAT Points instead of BAT. “These points can be used for tipping to creators, but BAT Points cannot be purchased,” Ryotaro Chikaki, chief marketing officer at Brave Asia, added. The East Asian country has been witnessing growth in the blockchain industry for several years. Japane is one of the few countries to formulate and implement a regulatory framework for the industry. According to Monex Crypto Bank’s report, there are 430 blockchain companies in the country, a 30.7% rise from the 329 companies reported last year.
