Whatever email you have, you should be able to block an IP.

Plus if you're not downloading the crap you probably have no worries. Doubt anyone is still using the old system of virii being hidden in mail, those never really worked.

thanks. I have outlook express and am not sure if I can block IP's from that (will research it some more). I just set up my internet/email host to block emails w/ viruses.

Don't remember if that is possible on Express...
You should have a virus scan going anyway and you know that miss. tongue4.gif

Curious... what type of emails are you getting? I normally get lots of spam. I think we all do. But since yesterday I've been getting emails with attachments that are obvious viruses. Would like to know if we're getting the same time and maybe try track where they're getting our emails from (that is if they come from the same source).

Actually.... A few months back (not exactly sure) a member was asking for some help to understand AAN (near the beginning). So he asked if I would please help him through email because he was really confused about it....... I fell right into his stupid trap doh.gif

3 emails later and 3 trojans...... Not exactly sure how he did it but when I figured out it was coming from the emails I told him I have no money in my accounts and that he is a b@stard for trying that on me. tongue4.gif

And till this day I have never heard from him. ninja.gif

And the saddest part is I have no clue what his name was on MMG...... really wish I could have remembered that, but by the time I figured out the viruses were coming from him I had already forgot his name.
(not that it would matter much, he would just sign up with another username) dry.gif

So much for trying to be nice dry.gif

If you are using Norton firewall you can block it there.

of course I do. Norton catches every single one and stops my email from downloading every time one comes in (which has been one right after another) post-36326-1110185726.gif
My web host seems to have intercepted the emails now, so hopefully it won't be a problem now.

I have gotten a few of those very same one's this week. They seem to be dressed up to appear as though they come from the FBI or CIA. Fortunately, Earthlink caught them before they reached my mailbox (I use Microsoft Outlook), and I only got a message from the Earthlink postmaster that they had intercepted a message with a virus.

I am still getting emails every now and then which appear to be from myself or other email accounts @ozegreatdeals.

They contain an attachment and the message simply says:
"Your account has been suspended, please open attachment to launch investigation panel"

Then some stuff pretending to be me!

I have contacted webhost (this is not hosted by me, one of my original websites so I actually have an outside host) and they tell me it is a well known virus been around for ages and all I can do if just delete the emails.

So somehow I go weeks without problem then all of a sudden everyday they are back.

Drew.

You can block him and the second option you can prefer not to download attachments in express without your permission.

BTW it's webmaster discussion section tongue4.gif

He spam your email, you spam his IP.
see who dies first.

I m guessing the guy using same std http proxy to do the spam, but the "from" there he is using bunch of emails, and he never dedupe his emails, keep spamming same person. should be a newbie. and if you always receive from same IP. I guess he just spam some emails only. if spam lots emails, this IP going blacklisted very soon. he is using php mailing script I guess.

What you need to do is... delete/block and report to your ISP. Easier.. one click away..
