MoneyMakerGroup _ Computer & Internet Discussion _ Internet Explorer Or Firefox?

Posted by: multimastery Jun 17 2008, 03:43 PM

What is your favorite browser Internet Explorer or Firefox (or other) and why? I trying to figure which one is best. Thanks

Posted by: ScottoGato Jun 17 2008, 06:07 PM

IE is the absolutely the worst browser out there. Firefox, Opera, and Safari have surpassed IE as loading faster.

In my opinion, Firefox 3 (just released today) is my favorite, by far. The add-ons for Firefox are legendary.

Use anything but IE.

Edit: Oh yeah, and FireFTP is finally able to work with Firefox 3, which now makes Firefox 2 obsolete for me.

Posted by: ati Jun 18 2008, 10:00 PM

Firefox, for sure.

Posted by: Bellame Jun 20 2008, 04:37 AM

Opera!!!! I use Opera!
IE - is has low defense against viruses
FireFox - Slow!

I think you're basing your opinion of Firefox from Firefox 2. Firefox 3 is much improved and much faster than Firefox 2.

Posted by: stevs Jun 21 2008, 04:54 AM

For me is firefox, i think is more reliable then IE...

Posted by: MoneySlack Jun 28 2008, 07:35 AM

Firefox.

Posted by: realist Jun 29 2008, 02:26 PM

I actually think Firefox is faster than IE most of the time, I much prefer it.

I haven`t yet downloaded FF3, but I will be doing pretty soon. I just thought I`d wait a while until some of the early bugs are cleared up.

Posted by: makemoremoney Jun 30 2008, 07:07 AM

Firefox is better, having more add ons and better useability than internet explorer.

Do we have something faster than FF? Opera sucks due to it hard to install plug-ins and extensions.

Posted by: steweroad Jul 21 2008, 01:55 AM

FireFox is more secured then IE against the viruses! I am talking about FX 3! So My choice is ForeFox 3

FireFox, despite the fact that they did us dirty by changing the way the browser accesses servers in FF3 which broke some functionality about a month ago.

Posted by: creative1 Jul 30 2008, 09:12 PM

I prefer firefox by a wide margin.

Posted by: maxfactor Aug 3 2008, 04:19 PM

To tell the truth IE does too many checks and balances like I am a baby... Firefox lets me do what I want... simple...

Posted by: MrPirate Aug 28 2008, 10:26 AM

Firefox for sure haven't used IE in like forever.

Posted by: buildwealthmmg Aug 31 2008, 02:04 PM

I like firefox more, bacause its more stable, but the problem is that sometimes its hard to see some pages, so that why i still have IE on my other computer that will keep me see everything

Posted by: AllFree Sep 30 2008, 05:01 PM

Using both browsers is better.
One without any cookies or cache for sensitive usage. and the other with all cookies for faster regular use.
In general, FF is said to be safe and secure, and IE is said to be better (faster) for inter server communications. It would depend on the various settings and protocols etc also.

Posted by: AMKRIOY Oct 9 2008, 08:06 PM

Firefox, hands down.

Posted by: aether Oct 11 2008, 10:50 PM

Internet Explorer is more compatible with the things only, but I only use firefox since it is really user friendly(for me anyways)

Posted by: JoshuaM Dec 15 2008, 05:01 PM

Me, I am into Firefox. I find Firefox load faster than IE. And it starts up when I double-click the icon faster too.

I find it lighter than IE. Then again, that's just my opinion!

God bless!

Posted by: kguru1979 Jan 3 2009, 12:42 AM

Fire Fox is the best one I have experienced.

Posted by: JMOnline Jan 3 2009, 09:49 AM

From a security stand point IE is at the bottom of the list.
I work in the IT field and have experience with both IE and Firefox from working with my clients.
I have notice those that use IE tend to have more issues with Spyware, Adware, Malware, ect. than those who use Firefox.
Another thing that you may notice and Microsoft is notorious for is they take someone's good idea and make it their own. IE does this with all the other browsers, for example Firefox had tabbed browsing long before IE7. Microsoft saw this and how everyone loved it then they implemented it in IE7.
As for me I have to use both due to the nature of my job, but for my personal use I prefer Firefox.

Posted by: wangjinhk Jan 13 2009, 01:27 AM

My favorite is Firefox,it has a lot of add-on tools to use, that's why I like it.

Posted by: ThePlan Feb 23 2009, 02:56 PM

Chrome for me! Love its simplicity and layout. However, its still a little buggy as some sites don't load quite right and I have to go back to FF.

Posted by: 2legit Feb 23 2009, 03:15 PM

Firefox 3 for as it is much faster and safer!

Posted by: zoltrix Feb 27 2009, 10:25 AM

I only use IE if the app or website (microsoft update) demands it.

Other than that i stick to firefox.
If firefox gets to popular i will probly switch to something else...less chance of it getting hacked.

I used to be a fan of Opera few years, but I like Firefox now more than ever!

Posted by: MadgeClark Apr 3 2009, 02:28 PM

I find safari, Chrome & Firefox the best browsers in terms of speed. But this also depends on what is your computer's RAM and processor specifications.

Posted by: pallmall Apr 5 2009, 04:55 PM

I'm a IE user have tried firerfox but did not get on with it.. Will try opera because IE gets on my nerves

Posted by: Piper30 Apr 7 2009, 07:04 PM

Looks like Firefox turned out to be a threat over internet explorer in the web browser battle. Firefox really loads sites more quickly and have a cleaner interface, but we still need to make sure that our sites work properly in IE, Firefox and other browsers as well.

Posted by: Atreidex Apr 16 2009, 02:39 PM

It's a simple option: FireFox (or Google Chrome, if available biggrin.gif)

Internet Explorer simply sucks. Designers blame it, coders blame it, people blame it. It's one of the poorest browsers ever made. As simple as that.

Posted by: w84dem2go Apr 16 2009, 05:23 PM

FF has a lot more options than IE. I love it that if you close FF with tabs open, it asks you if you want to save them for the next session - that's aweome. Also one tab can crash but leave the other s alone - that s cool.

Posted by: adz1989 May 1 2009, 06:42 AM

I much prefer FireFox over IE. I find FF loads alot quicker on my computer and when I open tabs on internet explorer it uses more PF usage and often crashes/freezes sad.gif

I like Mozilla FireFox, IE has many errors and its too slow it loading pages. But FireFox is as easy to use and its very fast. And also has more addons which can be easily added. Nice Browser. But while using on mobile Opera is the best browser for mobile, but not for PC.

Posted by: eric83miller Jul 1 2009, 12:32 PM

Firefox is much better than IE. Faster, more secured, more addons to personalize my web browser.

But if i have to choose the best out of all browsers, I would say Opera 10. King!

Posted by: Runnerek Jul 6 2009, 10:29 AM

IE is sometimes very slow so I prefer to use FF smile.gif

For me it is the best at the moment.

Posted by: -wataru- Jul 8 2009, 03:02 AM

I prefer to use firefox because of its security and its features but I do sometimes use IE for some important sites biggrin.gif

Posted by: Scottiepatton Jul 19 2009, 11:15 PM

Firefox 3 has lot of features which opera and internet explorer lacks in and also its third party browser which has its own benefits but if one is really intelligent he may never face a problem regarding downloads and surfing.
with some of really best addons for smart browsing:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

Posted by: InvestigatorPat Jul 29 2009, 05:28 PM

Firefox's wide array of plugins are what make it most appealing...anything you could imagine beign added to the program is probably avalilable as a plug-in. for instance, on my new full-HD monitor most websites only take up less than half the width of the screen, so i wondered if there was a split screen plug-in for Firefox. Sure enough within a few minutes i had it running. Adblock plus is my favorite, loads sites much faster and gets all the crap out of the way.

I actually use them all. Certain websites make me have to use them. Netflix online movie viewer (showtime channel) will not play in anything other then Internet Explorer.

I like Opera browser because it runs low on the memory and is a very powerful browser. Firefox is the god of all browsers in my personal opinion, however Google Chrome has just been released. As with anything that Google touches it will be more complex while being as simple as can be.

Google Chrome hogs your memory though. At least on my computer.

To answer your question, I would personally chose Firefox. You can not really go wrong with this browser. I hope this helps.

My favorite browser Is Firefox ,it is faster to open. detective2.gif

Firefox and the add ons are essential for security. No script and the Liberty reserve add on are key for transactions with PPs.

Posted by: Nathan2525 Apr 27 2010, 03:52 AM

Firefox all the way
There is so much more you can do
and all the plug-ins are awesome. I personally use SEO quake
A tool I couldn't do without in my business

Posted by: Shalbaal Apr 29 2010, 07:20 AM

Firefox hands-down. The Liberty Guard application alone for security makes it my #1 choice.

Posted by: earlyriser Apr 30 2010, 02:26 AM

I don't use windows anymore (unless I am forced to), but I wouldn't use IE if you paid me. Far too many vulnerabilities for me. I use safari or firefox on my mac and I use Opera 10 on Linux. Opera 10 is fantastci. You can download your torrents in your browser, use it as an email client in your browser and it is quick.

Posted by: strokem May 6 2010, 01:39 AM

Firefox better!
IE is quite slow.

Posted by: SuperMoneyGuru May 15 2010, 09:08 AM

DEFINITELY firefox. It has more capabilities, it runs smoother, it has many useful add-ons, etc.

Internet Explore is terrible in my opinion.

Posted by: JasonJJ May 18 2010, 05:50 AM

explorer is the past...

Posted by: dpacmittal Jun 19 2010, 09:58 PM

Wow! This topic is so lame. How can one even compare FF with IE. IE sucks as bad as any browser could... it deviates from standards, we have to code specially to make a site look normal in IE. IE just sucks.

This topic would've been more meaningful if it was Chrome vs firefox or safari vs. firefox.

Posted by: mellymell Jun 21 2010, 01:18 PM

Personally, I hate IE. Firefox all the way!

Posted by: VirtualAssist Jun 22 2010, 12:48 AM

while it looked as if Mozilla's Firefox browser was destined to become a huge threat to Internet Explorer in the web browser wars. Firefox has continued to slowly but steadily eat away at IE's market share, and for good reason. In many ways it was just a better overall browser than IE 5 or 6. Enter Internet Explorer 7. With many of the same features that helped spark Firefox's popularity as well as its intimate coupling with the Windows Vista operating system, Microsoft's newest browser offering has raised doubts as to whether Mozilla's market share can continue to grow at its current rate.

Both of these browsers have their own respective appeal and deciding which one may be right for you can prove to be a daunting task. This article attempts to make things a little easier for you when decision time arrives.

Posted by: srijshm Jun 22 2010, 11:02 AM

IE is out of competition anyway. The real choice is between Firefox & Chrome. For internet marketers, firefox is the best because of various adons like Rank checker, SEO toolbox, video-download etc.

I have to agree with you. Internet Explorer is out of the competition. I haven't tried Chrome, and have no real intention to. Firefox works for me, so I'm cool with it. One disappointing thing, though, is that when Firefox 3 was released, I started getting crashes, which I NEVER got with previous versions. Granted, it still fairly stable, especially compared to what IE used to do; but still, it's not the same Firefox that it used to be.

Still, IE's reputation is so badly damaged, I don't think that even with their newer features, they still stand a chance with anyone but the everyday surfer. Anyone who understand the Internet, or makes their money online has all but given it up.

Posted by: MoneyRainmaker Jun 27 2010, 07:29 AM

Firefox is more reliable than Internet Explorer and definitely faster but I personally prefer using Chrome.

Posted by: Eric80 Jun 28 2010, 04:37 AM

i never liked Explorer and when i got told about Firefox i thanked the heavens.
i just love the addons you can add and have McAfee Site Advisor as something to keep an eye on the dodgy websites

try Firefox and Google Chrome
should use IE if for some reason you cant use the two above

Posted by: kentbax Jun 30 2010, 02:19 AM

why internet explorer?

Posted by: trevormharris Jun 30 2010, 12:20 PM

I hate internet explorer that this is dead to me LOL, it crashes way too much.

I like Firefox much better because it doesn't crash as much and the add ons are much easier to handle.

But I've been using Google Chrome the past few months, because of how fast it is. It's really quite amazing.

To understand how non-standards compliant IE is, just use the acid test.

http://acid3.acidtests.org/

IE = 20/100 (you will see failures, but allow the test to finish)
Firefox = 94/100
Opera = 100/100
Chrome = 100/100

Opera and Chrome are the most standards' compliant of the four above. I use Firefox because the plug-ins I use with Firefox are not available for the others, yet.

Microsoft thought that the industry would follow them into their non-standards' compliant, proprietary technology; as always, when it comes to the Internet, they had and have it wrong.

without a question Firefox
Firefox role

I've been using Chrome for quite some time now. It is lightweight and very fast. I don't like FF for the simple reason it is a resource hog, but admittedly it is way better than IE...but for now, it will still be Chrome.

I use the same, but I also use Opera sometimes. Google Chrome took over for a while for me, but I started using FF primarily again recently. I thought FF really took some influence from Opera with the new interface and set-up with the tabs and how the bookmarks and such work now.

Chrome is awesome for app's and interactivity with the internet.

I gave up on Internet Explorer a long time ago. If it came down to that or Firefox, I would use Firefox.

I believe Firefox is better than Internet Explorer, my reason IE is always hanging when you open various tabs (IE 7) which i just downloaded

How said my good friend: Internet Explorer is good only for download Mozilla Firefox smile.gif and i totally agree. Firefox is faster and much better than explorer and he have so many options like bookmarks, so i prefer Firefox. I really have doubt that the number of Explorer users is more than 10%.

There are people who do not understand all details about browsers and go to the Internet just for few minutes. They use only IE and they are more then 10%.
By the way, Firefox has integrated antivirus system. When you download something, you can see check for viruses.

firefox or chrome, no question

Internet Explorer is the most boring browser I have ever experienced. It is ridiculously slow. I rather like firefox and google chrome. But, I like chrome most for it's interesting features.

Posted by: CashBloggerGirl Oct 16 2012, 08:39 AM

I'm definitely a Firefox girl. :D For me it runs more smoother and faster, plus I love the addon features. Internet Explorer on the other hand is a little slower, especially if I open more than one tab. I only use it if it's REALLY necessary, which isn't often laugh.gif

Google Chrome is what I use I love it! Its so fast

Posted by: Centralius Jan 9 2013, 11:34 AM

I have preferred Firefox for day-to-day use up to now even though I tend to get more Adobe Flash plugin crashes. Now that I'm using Windows 8, I think I may go back to IE at least some of the time. It's fast and has built-in Flash support.

Posted by: cloudsiah Jan 11 2013, 01:36 AM

I would prefer to Chrome and Firefox than Internet Explorer after using 3 of them for many years.

Security - Internet Explorer has been well-known to be prone to hackers and security problems, especially in cookies issue. Hackers have always been happy to develop softwares to hack on IE or Windows all the while. Firefox and Chrome are much secure.

Speed - Firefox is fast in speed. Chrome has the similar features too, but is much faster. Especially in loading Images, Chrome is the best choice.

Memory - As compare to memory usage, Firefox use up a lot more memory when a lot of tabs are opened, needless to say on video website. So if you are using an old PC, this can be a problem for you and can slow down your PC entirely and can even freeze your PC. Chrome and IE in contrast, has a better memory management.

Add-ons- IE is a proprietary product, which means very little community are creating add-on or extension to expand IE functions. Everything has to depend on Microsoft development skills. Firefox and Chrome has very large community to build the core software and add-ons for entertainment and explorer functions to reduce work loads of users.

Plugins - From experience, many plugins sometimes don't work in Chrome, like Java plugins. However, it is not guaranteed that it won't work, so you still have to test it out if you like Chrome. I have not yet encounter Flash plugins crash in Firefox yet, but is always better to test it out. Because all our settings and software installed in Operating System is different, sometimes it can be conflict to the plugins without knowing.

Community - Firefox has been a very big community, but Chrome should be bigger, because it is backed by Google's Linux Community. If you are running your Operating System in Linux, Chrome or name as Chromium in the open community, will be much more secure to use.

There are pro and cons on all explorers. Ultimately, you have to decide which gives you a better feel at the end of the day, so that you can surf net in a comfortable zone. It also depends on what you really need, security, speed or add-ons? So if you are want a more stable solutions, you should have these 3 explorer installed, and use 1 as default for daily use. When your default is not function properly, then your can use the other one as backup plan.

Hope this can be a guidelines for your decision.

Posted by: wispbusiness Jan 16 2013, 01:39 AM

Definitely Firefox is the more reliable and stable of the two browses. I tend to avoid IE like the plauge. It's pretty much the worst browser ever invented.

Posted by: gata Mar 2 2013, 02:01 PM

IE is the worst browser on market. no doubts.

Posted by: golduser02 Mar 3 2013, 10:03 AM

Internet Explorer was a the leader at one time but now it has gone down real bad.. It keeps hanging and its security is bad. It really cannot keep its hold on users any more. Fire Fox is user friendly and better in features and add-ons. Its security is also pretty good. Among the two FF wins. But Chrome wins in the race of browsers any day. Better features, Better stability, Better everything. !!

Posted by: bob seavey Mar 22 2013, 03:31 PM

Neither! I had issues with slow connectivity, viruses and my Java and shockwave not responding properly. I now will only use Google Chrome and haven't had an issue at all.

It has to be firefox. IE is terrible in my opinion.

Posted by: Bradford Moultrie Mar 28 2013, 03:35 AM

Fire Fox is built for marketing, having addons like Imacros which allows you to automate your marketing strategies and makes it easier to complete long tasks. so, yeah, Fire Fox way better than IE.

Posted by: Ie76 Mar 30 2013, 05:31 AM

Why all the hype about Firefox?I find it slow and has issues when loading sites.I use Chrome for almost everything, but still use Firefox when I need add ons ,such as the Seo add on which displays the page rank in a Google search, imperative when doing keyword research.
