MoneyMakerGroup _ Info & Announcements - Please read before you start posting _ Signature Rule Change

Posted by: realist Jul 25 2008, 11:50 PM

We`ve noticed that sometimes the size of the signature is far greater than the post itself.

We`ve changed the rules re signatures and would ask all members to check their own ones. The vast majority of you won`t be affected by this change.

QUOTE
Signatures:
We no longer allow banners to be posted in your signature. You may post up to 500 characters of text, including a maximum of 3 URLs, and no more than 5 lines. The font must be size 3 or under. Do not use any form of signature advertising services, and do not allow other people to advertise in your signature.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

MMG is happy to announce that we will now allow our upgraded members to have one banner in their signature, this will be in addition to the current signature allowance. The new signature rule is as follows:

QUOTE
Signatures:
You may post up to 500 characters of text, including a maximum of 3 URLs, and no more than 5 lines. The font must be size 3 or under. In addition, ONE banner may be posted in your signature if you have an upgraded MMG membership only. The banner must be of standard size which is 468 x 60 pixels horizontally. Do not use any form of signature advertising services, and do not allow other people to advertise in your signature.

LOL biggrin.gif Sorry to post about this here, but I'm really dissapointed, MMG is allowing upgraded members to attach banners to their signature.

Hey MMG, do you want to come a private forum? If so, let us know so we can run out here.

Very dissapointed.

Ok, I will give here a suggestion that regards hyips too. Ok MMG Staff, if you are so intended to create more features for upgraded members and limit free members I've something that you may like.

Just Upgraded members can start threads in Hyip and Autosurf section. Oh, what a cool thing, don't you think?

Currently we have four sections of the forum limited only for upgraded members. Now, upgraded members can add banners to their accounts, free members can't.

I'm just waiting the next measure from MMG to limit Free Members actions.

Ah. Maybe you (Staff) will say you are not limiting free members to add banners to their signature as it was not possible before, but as we know after this called Makeover the signtures with banners were issued, no more banners for all members. Now you come banners back, but for for paying members.

A. Mafaltti

P.S.: I'm sorry if this is not the appropriate place to post it.

P.S.2.: I'm posting here because I see a banner regarding this point in realist signature.

mafaltti, in no way are we wanting to downgrade any of our existing members, whether they are free, or paying. We very much appreciate all our membership, and are constantly seeking ways to improve their online experience when using this forum.

We`ve increased the number of folders, for example, as well as creating ways for members to win money in our Cash Giveaways.

The problem is that as explained on our Upgrade signup page, keeping a forum going costs a small fortune, with server costs, anti-DDoS protection, and so forth.

All we have done is introduced folders which may be of use for some who can personally make use of them to possibly make extra money. As for signatures, the existing signature allowance here at MMG is pretty generous as it is. A number of forums I know of either don`t allow any signatures, or allow signatures without ref links, or, limit links to just one or two.

The banner feature for upgraded members is simply an additional way to say thank you to those members who have upgraded their accounts, and are helping this forum to keep going, to the ultimate benefit of all our members.

Well, if you see a free member breaking the rules please feel free to use the `report` button, and it will be investigated.

The rules are clear that only upgraded members may use banners in their signatures.

Posted by: niyyie Aug 12 2008, 12:08 AM

Allowing upgraded members to feature banners is a good move in my view and is indeed another reason for me to upgrade.
However, I am of the opinion that the banner ads per page on MMG are one too many and reduce the value of each banner ad. This fact alone has been discouraging me from paying for ads on MMG.

Well, I know its a delicate balancing act. You guys (MMG owners) have to to decide between allow fewer banners per page and charging higher per banner OR more banners and charging lower per banner. Either way, remember the advertiser wants real value for money.

Keep up the good work.

You can follow http://www.moneymakergroup.com/index.php?act=paysubs&CODE=index to see how to upgrade and the prices. Currently you can only use PayPal from this page, but we also accept AlterGold, eBullion and LibertyReserve. You would need to submit a Support Ticket http://www.moneymakergroup.com/contact/index.php?_m=tickets&_a=submit if you want to use one of the other options.

Welcome to MMG wave.gif

I have been a free member for a few weeks now.. I did use the ticket system, but due to having no money in the available processors.. I have to wait.. Thanks for letting supportive members wear a banner. smile.gif

Also Yippee, please note that eBullion has not been available since 5th August.. many users are aware of the problems other than the message portrayed on the home page. Believe me I would be upgraded if I could get my hands on my EB rolleyes.gif

Dorky

I know, I have been missing.. I will be back soon smile.gif

Posted by: Yippee Aug 18 2008, 07:29 PM

Thanks for the info Dorky, I knew that eBullion was having issues but wasn't keeping up to date on it and didn't realize it was THAT far behind.

It was fine yesterday when I saw it, so I guess I don't know... only the mod who changed it can tell us what they thought the problem was. Unfortunately, you've changed the message already so I cannot tell who edited it.

Yes, your signature is fine.
What exactly is it that you are confused about?

I feel after being away from MMG for sometime and coming back that MMG could pick up the pace a little with regards to signatures and social network links. The forum seems to bland in that respect and would be falling behind in that regard, compared to some of the more lively forums. I do notice numbers are drasticly down from 2007 .

No greif, no ridicule.

Mr. megaplex, it may seem that way to you, but in fact, MMG has been steadily picking up steam and has risen in the Alexa rankings like crazy this year

Check out...
3 month 6,028 -2,595 Change in Traffic Rank over the trailing 3m period

that is a huge jump in users and page views. I for one don't need lively, all I need is the facts. I like MMG just as it is,keep up the good work guys

I was just suggecting a lttile modernizing thats all.

Why doesnt MMG have social networking links available to members ? I would think this would be a good thing as thousands more links of exposure would be created by this one decision alone

Good that I came across this thread, I have changed my signature to size 1 smile.gif

Posted by: WealthySovereign Dec 18 2012, 04:04 PM

Yesterday, I came on the MMG forum and found out that my signature had been removed by one of the moderators. I was told that I had eight lines in my signature, when my computer screen showed only three lines within the signature box. If I had not made a copy of it, I would have been very angry indeed, since it does take some time to create a decent signature. Luckily I had made a copy a couple of weeks prior which was very lucky indeed.

I then responded to the moderator that my new signature was only showing three lines on my computer and he/she responded the next day saying it showed five lines and so it was okay now.

post-36326-1110185726.gif

The truth of the matter is that before this whole fiasco my three line signature stretched all the way to the end of the signature box on my screen resolution, and remained three lines, but the moderator saw eight lines, and now this time when I put it up again each of the three lines are shorter than before, but only three shorter lines are in the signature box according to my computer's screen resolution view which is very evident.

In order to make everyone happy and offer some professionalism on a forum where so many trolls want to "take out" the good guys, I suggest to keep that from happening that in the signature rules you say how many lines should be showing for a certain screen resolution and then if you have a different screen resolution (name it) how many lines is permissible in a signature for that particular screen resolution.

As long as there is no consistency in what is required, then bad people can go unpunished and good people who are trying to obey the rules get the shaft.

Issuing a call for greater professionalism in a world of trolls who have hatchets in their hands,

Wealthy Sovereign

P.S. Trolls in my definition above are those who go on threads and cut down a program with accusations that have no basis in reality. They are also those who report someone for having too many lines in their signature according to their own screen resolution instead of offering constructive feedback about programs they have taken the time to study. Grow up people or stay off this forum.

The board rules are -

http://www.moneymakergroup.com/boardrules.html

QUOTE
You may post up to 500 characters of text using a font size 3 or under. This includes a maximum of 3 URLs, but no more than 5 lines total - which INCLUDES any spaces or blank lines. The text lines may NOT wrap onto the next line.

In your signature now I see 2 links, 1 line of text, and 2 spaces so a total of 5 lines, which is of course 5 in total.

I know screen resolution can have an effect on signatures, but I guess the majority are using some sort of 'norm' so usually their signatures fit ok.

I see three lines in my signature with words in them and there is a space between word lines one and two and between word lines two and three.

So you say the two invisible space lines between my three lines of words count as two more lines giving me five total?

I just changed my signature according to the rules as I understand them and if I understand them correctly it is compliant, but just to be completely sure I am asking you to review my signature. This should be the last time I request a review since I understand the signature rules better now.

REALIST, please look at my signature and please tell me if it is now compliant. If it is not please give me a few days to correct it since I doubt I will be back on this forum in the next couple of days. Thanks my friend and Merry Christmas to you and yours.
