CRANK is a VERY entertaining action movie with a lot of humor thrown-in. Jason Statham(from the TRANSPORTER movies) is likely the next breakout action star in a field where all the big names have gotten up in age. Statham can deliver the action and also the subtle Brit-humor that makes him a likeable character.
The storyline is pretty basic and delivered immediately: a baddie shoots-up something called the "Bejing Cocktail" into Statham that will kill him if his adrenalin level drops too low. So, Stathma spends the whole movie on a big adrenalin rush that is helped by everything from coke and meth, sex with his GF in public on a newspaper stand(that is hilarious and so is when they interview a woman later about it), electric-shock, etc. He's trying to get revenge on the evil-doer before it's GAME OVER.
For only 85 minutes, this movie really crams the action in and there is no time to even think about going to the popcorn stand or restroom. It's a very fast-paced movie that will leave you feeling like you just OD'd on speed yourself. There are a couple of gore-scenes in this one too that get it an R rating and also made this reviewer very pleased
CRANK is a helluva lot more entertaining than SNAKES ON A PLANE and has a wicked sense of humor that took some creativity in the writing and direction. I heartily recommend those who like movies like DIE HARD or LETHAL WEAPON to give CRANK a try because it's a damn good flick
