I know that it is possible for non US residents to have a US account but I can not tell you wether the site that you posted is genuine.

You could ask them for references from existing clients and the like.

The site you mentioned is selling the info on E*TRADE brokerage
account. This account works much like a US checking account and
is available to Non-US resident. I have my account with them. You
can get all the info free at the following links.

Bank_account_opening_kit.rar

Interesting,

Most U.S. banks will require citizenship and SS# to verify deposit account holders, so if getting a Visa card is your main concern, then Paypal or eTrade may be your better option depending on what country you do reside in.

Good luck to all, MIke

A part from the mentioned options it's really really hard to open a US bank account being a non-US resident. Especially since the 9/11 events things got much stricter.

I saw in someother forum, some members offering services to open US bank account. Not sure if they are reliable.

If you have this requirements you can open an account in US without being a US Resident.

note: this is not etrade account, tomato bank, accent card, well cargo and VMI card.

Requirements:

- Copy of Passport(e.g. Your Country Passport)
- Copy of National Identity Card (e.g. Driver's licenses)
or

Address Documents

- Utility Bill (e.g. electricity, gas or water bill, or tax bill)
- Bank / Credit Cards Statement for last 3 months or Reference letter from current banker (must state that the account is in good standing)"
or
- Lease Contract
- W8 Ben (if applicable) [ Each applicant should complete and sign a separate form for the following circumstance

I have helped quite a few clients establish a bank account in the U.S.
and you can have internet banking and a visa card or mastercard.

This is not Tomato bank or e-trade. It is a very large established
bank and very well capitalized.

There are some great programs that are for U.S. only, so if you are non U.S., it is good to have a U.S. bank account and mailing address. Some of those companies do provide both, as well as a credit card. It is best when the opportunity is GLOBAL, that way there is no worry about being left out if you are non-U.S.
