Some MLM are legal, some are illegal. If there is no real product selling and members only earn money from new members' registration fee, then it's illegal.

Many of the MLM being promoted in MMG are just pure money game and are illegal. Compensation plan that uses Matrix and Binary plan are illegal in some countries. If it is illegal, there will be problem of transfering the business to your children in a legal manner in the future.

Specifically answering the title of this post about MLM/NM in China.

In China, there is certain restrictions on doing MLM there (I mean real legit MLM business).
You need to get the necessary approval from the local government there first.
So althought China is a big market, it is very restrictive and therefore the result is not as one would expect.

I understand that there are some MLMs moving into China with the authorities approval.

What about those MLMs online?

The fact in China is the government can crack down on anything that it thinks violate the Chinese law.

Many online portals are banned in China. Believe me that if you try to do online MLM business in China, very soon you will find that you and your downlines can't even logged into your own website.

Your IP address can be blacklisted very fast in China.

China is no longer the China which we used to know.

You can do it. But do it slowly and carefully.

U can do it slowly n carefully. But once any online MLMs are established there, it's hard to control the growth there.
