LOL
We waste so much time on this forum discussing useless scam programs and arguing with "sheep" that it is a welcome change to discuss "real" trading. If you havent already, I would suggest reading this article (fxWizard) which Hawk had shown me awhile ago. Its amazing: http://www.spreadtrade2win.com/specialfx.zip you can read more and get the indicators here: http://spreadtrade2win.com/forum/viewtopic...894#FX-Wizard:_
Welcome to the forex world, pepotg.

The fact that everyone is so excited to get "paid" by Marketiva scares me a little bit. Was there any doubt people wouldnt get paid?
From what I can tell, you would be safer using a larger broker such as Refco or Interbankfx, but, I am personally not a member of Marketiva (Im in the USA), so I shouldnt even comment on it. increase, what charting program are you using? Are you using Metatrader? If so, you will see a list of indicators on the left of your screen, double click on the one that says "Moving Average". To add a 5 EMA, change the period to 5, and the "MA Method" to exponential. You can also set the colors to red and green. I have mine "Apply to" the close of each bar. You just repeast that step for each EMA listed for the guppy method. Hi,
Just like everyone said, its been very tough. I have been "paper" trading with vitual money since July. At first, I thought it was easy to make money and I was up a few grand, then, I realized it was only luck and I started loosing money. For August and most of September I was loosing about 80% of my trades. It was pretty bad for awhile. Now, I think I am at a "break-even" stage, sometimes I make money, sometimes I loose money and it all evens out. I hope in the next few months I will start to make more moeny then I loose. Meanwhile, I have been trading "real" money based on expert buy/sell signals which I have been paying for. So far, that has been profitable for me. I really like the guppy system and the people over at the net-investors forum. They, along with Hawk here at MMG, have been very helpful. My goal is to make at least +150 pips per month starting in 2006 using real money QUOTE(unclejesse @ Oct 8 2005, 05:53 PM) increase, what charting program are you using? Are you using Metatrader? Lets see if I can answer all the questions
1. I dont have any problem with Marketiva. It seems people really like them. I was just wondering why everyone seemed a little surprised that they actually paid. But, it looks like a good broker (note: USA citizens can not use them). 2. Guppy system info. can be found here: http://www.net-investors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=14&p=1 3. I am currently paying for these signals: http://fxan.com/overview.htm http://www.fxmaster.net Both are profitable and consistant QUOTE(increase @ Oct 9 2005, 02:30 AM) OK, I got that sorted, what does this mean? 2.Enter the trade with stop using Fractals and follow trend with fractals I know what fractals are, but is he referring to na indicator called fractal Sorry I know it's dumb Not a dumb question. I had the same exact one over there on their forum. This is just saying that your entry point is the most recent high fractal (if going long), or, the most recent low fractal (if going short). You set a stop-loss at the most recent low fractal (if going long), or the most recent high fractal (if going short). See picture for a summary. Note: the entry point is the most recent high fractal because we are going long in an up-trend. QUOTE(unclejesse @ Oct 10 2005, 01:57 AM) Not a dumb question. Hello Everyone
I've found a nice site which is good for newbies and expereinced traders. The reason iam listing it in here is because its been created byunbiased research * Ask-an-Expert Forex Forum * Forex broker & ratings - will help u choose a good broker * Forex singal, managed accounts, trading systems training etc * Forex Basics * Forex News So much more Check it out at : http://www.goforex.net/ QUOTE(dude007 @ Mar 16 2005, 02:14 PM) No problem! I am just trying to help u guys I really enjoyed your opening thoughts, is there a place where one could just sign up for a forex type course? I mean I'm sure there are tons of great free resources out there but it seems to me every place I read there are so many differing opinions it's hard to figure out what is worth paying attention to.

I figure that it might be helpful to look at the trading platform while learning about forex so i could grasp the concepts better, don't you think so? thanks!!!
Yes. In fact, I would download Metatrader (its free), and just start looking at different charts and changing the time frames to get a feel for how things look.
Then, you can start playing with and learning the different indicators. QUOTE(unclejesse @ Oct 11 2005, 05:52 AM) Yes. Or you can simply apply the indicators that you want to your charts via the navigator in MT4. QUOTE(ArcticSteve @ Oct 12 2005, 09:46 PM) You need the indicators in your indicator folder. I just played around with it until i got familiar with it. You might want to get on skype with someone that knows how to use it so they can walk you through it.
I think it comes with a free demo account once you download it, if not, go to the "file menu" and open a new account (you can use fake contact info if you want to)
After you create a new account, it should automaticaly log in to the server and say "connected" in the bottom right. Next, you can add different charts by going to the "File" menu, then "New Chart" Once you have that going, I can send you my template for guppy. pepotg,
No problem. Give FXCM a try. I think their program is Metatrader (but they call it something else), or, its very similar. Just learn how to setup EMAs (exponential moving averages) and how to setup fractals. Then we can set you up on the guppy. QUOTE(unclejesse @ Oct 14 2005, 05:38 AM) pepotg, No problem. Hi,
There should be an indicator called "fractals" which you can add. I can also show you how to use EMAs if you dont know how to add it. Yes, Guppy has been about 75% accurate for me so far QUOTE(unclejesse @ Oct 15 2005, 01:22 PM) Hi, There should be an indicator called "fractals" which you can add. Could it have another name? by the way what do fractals look like? Now when i added "EMA" i got a green line that followed the rise and fall of the candles. Hope you can teach me how to interpret and use it . many thanks UncleJesse!!
UncleJesse ive done some reading on EMAs and looked at the chart of nancy over at netinvestor's forum. The long term and short term moving averages are quite clear to me. But here are my questions:
1. I noticed these symbols- R1. PP, S1 and S2. what are they? 2. what did nancy mean when she said "Note i only trade when all time frames agree.ie 10 minutes,60 minute and 240 minute"? 3.What's the indicator below the chart? Do we need that? 4.how do you "follow the trend with fractals"? Hope i could begin practicing soon. Thanks a lot!! These are your pivot points whick are lines on the chart that give you a good idea when to exit your trade using this strategy. I dont think FXCM has an indicator for this, but, you might be able to get one on the web and add it in manually. 2. Nancy looks at all the different time frames and they all must show her the trend is in the same direction before she trades. 3. No, you do not need this indicator. I think its just a MACD histogram which you can add if you want to. 4. Hmmm. I am not sure about this. I will ask Nancy. Are you going to her chat room today at 5pm EST? I will be there. Also, can you take a screen shot of your chart so we can look at it? I think FXCM uses Metatrader. If so, I can send you my template for you to use. QUOTE(unclejesse @ Oct 16 2005, 06:29 AM) 1. I'd agree with not trading too high of your account balance. If you hold a position long enough it usually will clear provided you have enough margin.
