Hello-

I am looking to learn more about running my own doubler using the sript from yourfreeworld scripts.

Does anyone know what the server requiements would need to be...I am sure that I would need a dedicated server, and unlimited bandwidth...but can anyone expand on this further.

Make sure your server has a P4 or Xeon and not a celeron Other than that, I think you may have covered it. I'm sure someone has has actually run a matrix site can think of some better advice for you.

Oh yea, and do backups OFTEN. At least 4x a day and definitely right before you do a line launch.

I was thinking wouldn't it be great if we set up an e-mail to send offering advice to admins every time a new site pops up. Like all the things that we know from experience. Just so they know what they are getting into.

If I wrote a matrix site script I'd try and incorporate an autobackup using Perl.

THis is great info..keep it coming...I like the idea of learning from what people like and do not like...and would be willing to listen to any ideas that you guys might have to enhance the overall system.

admins of phantom cycler make a crap load of money i believe.. every 3 shares, so that means a a 3rd of the payout, added to the payout on the site, is what they make.. 30,000. they make 10,000 thats fricken sweet.

It seems like people tend not to put as much money into the phantom sites as they do with the yourfreeworld doublers though. Especially if the phantom admins impose those 5 share per minute or per 5 minute rules. For example, i'm going to feel comfortable putting in 1k or 2k when GoldMadness launches, but i'd never put that much into a phantom doubler.

Here's my advice.

If you want headaches and want to have to be working on it 18 hours a day then go for it.

Server requirements...can vary. yourfreeworld still uses MySQL which is not the best database version, this is why my new script will be using another version of SQL.

Phantom and the every 3 shares thing...don't think you get that much after fees, maintainence, etc. It definitely isn't 1/3. yourfreeworld is somewhere around the same too I believe but not sure on that.
