Hi,

Im in the uk and have a few us bank drafts/checks I have to cash which are in dollars,
Theres a charge for cashing them here which is about $40 which is too much.

So I was going to try cashing them in the us.

As they are in my name can I cash them at a bank or post office or do I have to have a us bank account? Are there any international banks in the us that I could do that at?

If anyone can help Id really appricate it.

Open a US Dollar account at your own UK Bank - Most nowadays can do that for you. You might even be able to get a Debit Card on that account... Withdraw the cash from a regular ATM.....

I guess it really depends how much you're talking about...

$40 isn't a high charge, if you're talking about $4K... and.... it depends how long you've "sat" on the cheques so far... you could have lost that much in interest..... Time is money - Don't waste it wink.gif

Good luck,
