As far as it wants ... the power of the US can be seen when a country changes whatever type of political format they have been using and switch to democracy. The inhabitants feel the desire to live like the US -- the US can extend power in a non-confrontational premise.

No the US does not - they act to defend citizens of a country when called upon, or when the US citizens in that other country are placed in mortal danger. I can't think of any other nation that has done the same in response to either situation.[right][snapback]175449[/snapback][/right]
