Does anybody have any systems they use for news announcements?

Personally i've noticed that, using a 15m & 5m chart, a short-term trend starts to form within the hour preceding the news, usually straight after it will reverse sharply by several or more pips before returning just as sharply to the direction of the trend before the news. Today's 8:30 announcement is a prime example of this.

So i'm thinking the optimum time to open a trade would be within 30 mins after announcement with the expectation that it will continue trending the same way as before.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I don't think as a general rule it Reverses..sometimes it goes in the direction of the pre news trend but it DOES seem to jump and then fall back
