Full Version: E-gold Scam?
MoneyMakerGroup Forum > Payment Processors & Currency Exchange > Payment Processors & E-Currencies > E-Gold

I got a little worried when I got an email saying your account has been FROZEN. The email was from e-goldsupport.com and they had a link for me to go to resolve the problem.

First of all, I don't have an e-gold account.

Second of all, why do i need to go e-goldsupport.com which could be a site that somebody made up to look like an official e-gold support site.

Anybody run into this? I might be a new dog to this old trick. But its kinda funny since I dont have an account there to be frozen.

In fact, I've never even heard of e-gold before I came to this forum.

You've exercied excellent common sense.

They were fishing I beleve.

Do not, under any circumstances even open these emails.

It's all a scam, by people who want money.

I hope this helped.

Yeah, to the untrained eye (no offense) or those not looking out for these, it is very appealing to click on.

It's sad what these people will do for money sad.gif.

Be carefull on email phising and always check your domain location and ssl when you access egold.com

There are many examples of fake egold site, for ex:

www.e-qold.com (not g)

i have been getting at least two of these emails every day for at least a week.

i have forwarded them to e-gold support centre. Not sure if that will make any difference, but makes me feel better

As already said above paypal, e-gold etc, never send emails with "log in here details" they will always advise you to log in from your browser

take care

I used to send those phishing emails to e-gold but it seems that they don't reply anymore. At one time e-gold even froze the hacker 's account.
