Im just getting started with forex, and I orginally got started with fxcm's and thier trading station 2 program.
This program is the best for me, but Ive heard some bad stuff about the company fxcm.
I was wondering if anyone knows another broker with software very similar to thiers.
I tried using oanda, but I just dont like the software.
Also, what do you guys think about fxcm? Are they bad people to work with?
Thanks

I use marketiva as a platform and metatrader4 and xtick as analysis software. Xtick is way better but you need to pay for it.

I'm using Marketiva but as soon as I close my open trades I'm moving to North Finance to trade directly from MT4. MT4 has the charts and all the features a serious trader needs.

yea, NF is great as it uses MetaTrader, and you can directly deposit and withdraw from ur e-gold
I'm actually using both marketiva and North Finance since Marketiva is my long term trade playground and North Finance for intraday. I much prefer North Finance though with the lower spread, leverage and the fact you can trade with MT4 which is superior to Streamster in my opinion.

I am using Marketiva and Oanda currently. MB Trading could be a good choice too for me.

I could not agree more on FXCM. I have an account with them, but will also open an account with FX Solutions as well. I will be using a trading system by a thread called 100 pips a week: http://www.moneymakergroup.com/100-Pips-Week-t57754.html and will be using xtick for software/platform with North Finance Brokerage.
I'm very leery of smaller Brokerage firms because of the Refco situation which you can read about here. This article is an eye opener http://www.robbooker.com/blog/personal/
I hope this helps!

I'm using Oanda when I'm at work due to being able to trade without using software. I use North Finance at the house. NF is the best in my opinion.

I'm trying out the Metatrader 4 demo accoutn. Looks like its a snap shot only! No live signals in MT4 or is there a way to enable it?

i like marketiva much more, cuz they have a live support, and they are so fast in helping me even if i have trading along time with a virtual account with them, they supported me very good.
also there platform friendly and easy in use.
I don’t think I need to change them.

I am also using metatrader 4 demo, to get live feeds you just have to register for demo account. It is not just a snap shot.

Found a good independent review site for forex brokers here.
The more i read about FXCM the less i want to go live with them, i do like tradestation especially the charting plugin, is there any other free charting software available apart from MT4?

Err, don't know if this is right thread but...what's the best broker there for opening a mini account that accepts 100USD as the minimum deposit? Exclude easy-forex please...
Thanks! Appreciate your inputs...

HI!
And I use Real Trade Group. They have Real Trader4 software, that is identical to Metatrader. First I was trading using demo account, now I trade on real account with real money.
Fore new traders I can give a small advice, how to choose a broker.
The specific parameters that one should look on before choosing a broker is:
1. Reputation in the financial market. 2. Certification and regulation. 3. Spread charged 4. Facilities provided like daily updates, recommendations, mobile trading, pone trading etc. 5. Customer care support 6. hidden cost if involved 7. User friendly platform etc.
A good forex broker should be always reliable and efficient.
And of course, first try on demo account. If it is a success, then you may try with the real money!
And thankfully my broker Real Trade Group fulfills every norms and has quite satisfactory returns.
Hope it helped!
