I am sick of scammers and scamming sites.
Anyone have any creative ways to get back at them? I think we all have just had about enough.
Dont invest in the ones that are such obvious scams in the first place would be a good start

I will be doing a whois search on all domains, before I invest. If anyone has any other constructive ideas for newbies, please share. Also if you have been scammed and were able to get back at the scammer please share your story. I would love to hear it.
The best ideas are the following:
- think about thats all like a game, not real investing - Dependent on the payout ratio, expect the shortest life time of a program (there are some rules, <5% not longer than 4-5 month, programs with lesser ratios can live longer up to 6-8 month) - never reinvest in the same program QUOTE(Basha @ Mar 31 2006, 09:07 AM) That is wonderful to say and of course hind site is 20 20 vision, but when you are new to investing as many people are and throw in other factors such as financial need, etc. that is just not enough. The good practice should be not invest too much when you first started. Just spend the money that you can afford to lose. Any good revenge stories?
@Basha:
Which "revenge" storys? I don't think that it would be a good idea to be angry. Keep in mind that you (or anyone who believe in 'investing') is responsible too for the lost money. Because no one can really think that those ratios are real. QUOTE(AI-Trader @ Mar 30 2006, 08:35 PM) @Basha: Which "revenge" storys? Because no one can really think that those ratios are real. Hi AI, It seems to me that of course with the higher ratios they are mostly scams; but even the lower ones are turning out to be scams to. When I say revenge stories I mean, what successful steps have you taken to get back at a scammer and either get your money back or shut them down. SEC, FBI, CIA, man in the moon, anything that was done. Well I agree that we have to take responsibility for our actions, what is extremely disturbing is that while we may know that we have gotten scammed others are still getting scammed. Maybe we can't get our money/earnings but we can help to shut these scammers down so they can not hurt more people. I am new to this whole investing thing and have gotten taken by 4 sites already, 4 HYIP and one a autosurf. So I think something needs to be done, it is too easily to set up a website and hang your open sign and if you scam people, Oh well - nothing happens to these scammers.
Well unfortunately most of the program owners do not reveal their identity so this for a start makes any sort of revenge useless as you are chasing a figment of someones imagination, the best thing you can do is collect as much info as you can and pass this on to your local police depertment.

I think we all have just had about enough. well, if you really do not wish to get scammed... the real safe methode is to stay away that's worse, but true.... or keep your eyes open, there are so many Hyips or good autosurfs out there, run by MMG members... so I would stick to them... take care
do a thorough research before investing. some hyips launch with a very low budget (these hyips are more likely to scam within 1 day)
also consider the script, hosting and the member reputatuin. it is a tough game. best advice is to stay away. you can always play with small amounts which you can afford to loose.
You would probably be better off to stay away from hyips .
no-you can make good money on hyips
the thing is to sort out the obvious scammers from those with possibility there is no 100% sure way but look out for things like hosting on a free server. also send emails to Admin before you join and ask questions. you will quickly see if they respond and sound intelligent! I can see the reputation thing but what if the admin is not a member and never shows their face on the Boards. I usually see someone else introducing the plan, not the admin. I think people will find this useful. Basha |
