if you check emo's alexa rating you will clearly see the results of a DDoS attack. their hits just today is at 170,000,000 and it may increase by the time you read this! they avg only slightly over 3 million a month on a normal work period.
they are under a massive attack and i wish the best of luck to the admins that have to remedy this. i have no clue what they gotta do, but i'm sure there's a lot to do.

I think they just blast a site with a bunch of traffic all at once... not quite sure the details. I just don't understand why people do these DdoS attacks. Can't they just 'not' be annoying?

I agree that this is extremely annoying. But I think I read somewhere that DDOS attacks could be blackmail or extortion attempts by crackers. And I also read in a post on MMG that both stormpay and Egold were subjected to severe DDOS attacks by hackers just before or during audits. So those could be possible reasons. Also read that crackers sometimes use DDOS attacks to act as a decoy while they take over a system. Not that any of this is what is happening with EMslO though. Also for anyone who doesn't know, DDOS attacks do not allow access into the site itself, so your $$$ is safe.

First thing they need to do is block all traffic on all ports other than port 80.

Thanks for the reality check, everyone. I suspect this may have to do with them investigating Engagsurf and that admin possibly trying to block that audit. Anyway, I will wait it out. Almost joined Alertpay today but saw too much negative experiences with it.
Hopefully, they will block those ports and we will all be back on track soon.

It took eGold quite long to get ddos protection realising it is bad to their business. I hope that these guys wont wait as long as eGold had and would make sure that smooth operation is a must to run a good business.
Meantime i am on hold for several days and cant get money out or in.

Hmm isnt more that 5 days off-line because Ddos attack little too much for site like EMO ? OK for hyip or autosurf, but for one big payment processor ...
Now where is that 2.5 million we had laying around? Ooops!
I hadn't heard of anyone being ripped-off by EMO but someone obviously complained and WHAM...GAME OVER EMO.
I wonder if there was a sting operation involved with that missing money. That's a lot of money to go missing if it was from individual accts and those individuals would have been screaming all over the net. If it was just ONE acct though and that acct happened to be a Fed, hmmmmm.
They should have known to get properly licensed in their home state. Dumbasses! What is it with Texas payment processors and not getting licensed properly?

Not only that - but Dayuuuum...... how much more money do they need when they are charging the withdrawl rates.
I would think that they would have had more then 5M in the bank though.
