I've noticed too many people posting 1-3 word posts all over the place such as "looking.." "im in" "take a look" etc..
These type of posts are unacceptible, against the rules, and a complete waste of space. If anyone is caught doing this, you will not only be suspended or banned, but you will get ALL of your posts deleted and your post count reduced to zero.

Those are some very good changes, useless posts were starting to get out of control.

It does have some minor drawbacks but I know some of the members are sick of being pulled into scams and people spamming to get their signatures seen.
I think it's going to be a welcome change once you get used to it. There are some times where one word answers something but it's not always necessary.

I'm sure I have a few of those somewhere..possibly way more but I still have less than 250 posts....and it was hard work! I definitely understand about the spammers pretending to be checking out a program though. This shall be interesting......
Edited to add: I have never said "take a look" or whatever it is the spammers say nit I will admit I do love those smileys! And I only recently learned what CMI/CMO meant! Shucks!

Its been around since few months ago with such cases where i noticed this member posting 1 single word and attached it with graphic.....its absolutely wasting the space!! Great admin, u taking this matter seriously I think I've report such cases before 2-3 times, but since there is no such rules on this issue, i cant see the point the admin give them a warn last time, but now i see the changed

21 letters - just made it. Whew.
Seriously though - while I think this is generally a good idea, I would hate to see valuable members suddenly wiped out because they forgot this new rule and just said something like "Smooth surfing" or "just got paid". I hope some common sense will prevail while the forum is purged of obvious spammer-scammers.

I was just showing that you can just quote someone and write a one word reply.
And about reporting thing, I was thinking about the ones that have all the posts like: qoute + "looking". I sure am not going to report someone just for writing a short reply that makes sense, but those obvious post boosters who go from thread to thread and write the same thing, I will.
I surely hope that members won't get warnings for writing posts like mine above, that would be crazy. The way I see it the new rule is there just to make it harder for people to boost their post count and to clear up some useless posts.

Quotes are no different from any ordinary text we post, it is just between the quotes tag, its stored like that in the database, the forum software doesn't care whether its quoted or not. Although the mod. can be edited to count words outside the quote tags.

Just to be clear, I'm forced to post 25 times before I can PM anyone, but I also must make sure all 25 posts are long enough?
I think it's the value of the post and the person making it, that should be considered. Not a post count, nor a character count.
I've read posts as long as my arm and when I finished I still hadn't learned anything or even understood half of it.
Numbers are not an indication of content. Not the number of posts, nor the length of the post.
And if you're interested in cleaning up useless crap, requiring longer/more posts...IMO, seems to work against that very thing.
I know the count makes it easier on the mods/admins....but that doesn't automatically make it the best option.
Do whatever you want.....I'll remain Quiet. I might hit 25 posts eventually.

people just post " cmi " and " cmo " just to increase their count post but thankfully moderators are now doing gr88 job to get rid of such problems . also least character post set to 20 is a very nice decision since now people will have to think what they want to post and this will help differentiate between real money maker who is here to take advantage of mmg and with its help make some money and between those who are just here to increase their post and 1ce they become members with 500- 600 post they run some programs and betray people's trust.

Only the posts with intent to spam. We review the person's post history before we take any action. If someone has 500 posts that consist of 3-4 words, then obviously they are either trying to build post count, or spam their sig, and theyre going to get all their posts wiped, and they'd get banned

Scammers think they are so slick to gain hundreds of posts quickly ,and then turn around and scam the members and visitors of mmg. It happens all the time ,and gives mmg a bad reputation .. Great rule
Maybe you should consider also removing people's signatures. That way you wouldn't get posts just fir the sake of promoting affiliate urls. It is not uncommon to see people posting in programs that are not even a part of or even considering to be a part of just to show their signature around.
I've been reading this forums many months and only a couple months ago I started posting. It used to be better I must admit... a place where people would share good information. Now it's got so popular that it is full of people you can't trust.... sort of like what happened with TG long time ago.
