Tonight there is a new "Account Upgrade" feature on MMG. This is 100% optional!

There is a very small cost to upgrade your account, and money collected from upgrading your account goes towards the very expensive server/hosting costs we have to pay each month to maintain MMG (thousands of dollars per month), and it also helps with advertising and other costs that arise.

Here are some of the benefits you get when you upgrade your account:

• 250-300 PM box storage slots.
• Special color in the usernames list.
• Special group name
• Customized tagline under your name and avatar (make it say whatever you want, just PM ASFx to change it)
• Special icon below your name in your posts and your profile (see example here)
• The ability to create new topics in the "Ads & Promos" and "Selling & Trading" sections.
• The ability to access our member to member currency exchange section (still must meet the 3 month/250 post rule after you subscribe)
• You will be supporting MMG and helping with the rising costs of hosting services and advertising (thousands of dollars per month!)

Restricting the ability to post new topics in the "ads & promos" and "selling & trading" sections will also help to reduce the amount of spam in those areas. Also, restricting the member to member currency exchange section to upgraded members will help even further to reduce the amount of people with dishonest intentions that are able to access that area.

Currently only egold, paypal and credit card payments through paypal, are accepted for upgrades. Remember that you do not need a paypal account to use your credit card.

The restriction of Ads/Promos and Currency Exchanges to upgraded members is a brilliant idea.

If you enlarge the maximum allowed length in signature and you enable subscribing (because I noticed that the basic option on forum - subscribing - was disabled) in upgraded accounts these accounts will be more attractive.

And what happens after 2038

I did consider the large signatures, but then i thought that would make the forum look too messy after a lot of members upgrade.

i don't think this is a bad decision ,but i think its taken rather too suddenly ( or did jason send any prior update ) i just got this mail update and tried to get into the member to member exchange section and fiam it says i have to upgrade,he shoudl have informed us earlier so that we would be ready for it ,i dont invest in sites that pay daily ,i do only monthly ones and i invest all at a time and get all at the month end,now i dont have enough to do this upgrade,
also the choice of payment is too limited,stormapay shoudl be there too,if they have clsoed jason account then he shoudl; get a friend or hsi wife to creat one and use it .
anyways as i said its not a bad decision especialy considering the scammers that try to use teh exchange section .

i really like the idea, if nothing else just to keep some people out of the currency exchange section.

I'm in for a year, easy decision. Will upgrade to lifetime before my year is up thanks for all your hard work admin and mods!

Why MMG admin will be benfecatored? U$250 is real money, isn't it? We have a Money Maker Group Forum and the admin just took us U$250 in the begining of the chat.


Scammer? Who do you think has the money to pay you U$10, U$50 and U$250 easily easily???? Scammers will do it laughing . As soon as they got those thousand money they will get here pay you this "little fee" and scam around.

People around the world come here make your forum bigger and realiable. I'm From brazil. Do you have an idea of how much is the minimum salarium here? Less than U$150. People are surviving here with less then U$150 per month.

In my case, i always ask for 1% , 2% or whatever. I spend in those hyips scam and if i loose U$15 i get completely furiou.

well, you don't have to pay to use most of the forum. only a couple areas are restricted now. and those needed to be more restricted anyway.

But E-Currency exchange is restricted.

i think this guy have some points,i am from nigeria in westren africa though i live in india,the minimum monthly wage in my country is 7,500 naira ,that is about $50 and and there are others more lesser or greater than that ,but still under $250 ,now tell mw how they will feel with this kind of decison ,jason might reconsider his actions here .

The MMG Admin owns the forum and has shown he knows what benefits the forum. Obviously, anything that benefits the forum also benefits him. This is not a socialistic commune. If you've been reading this section, you know how much it is costing to run this site that we all enjoy. He's asking for some of those costs to be defrayed. Most will find that reasonable. Most will find the new policy on ecurrency exchanges to be a benefit.


You don't have to pay $250 if you don't want to.

As we have all seen, ecurrency exchanges are very risky even here. I'm all for restricting it myself as much as possible. If Jason decided to do away with exchanges because of the risks to the members, I'd support that too. When people get ripped-off by an exchange, they immediately go to the Mods and Admins for help, even though there isn't much they can do about it. Who needs that kind of hassle? There are exchangers operating outside of MMG and the section on MMG is for the members' convenience. WHen it becomes inconvenient and risky, it's not worth it.

To solve this problem of a lack of cashflow, how come MMG just doesn't charge more for their ads? Let the ads pay for the servers, hosting fees, etc. The advertisers are looking for people to see their ads, which is what mmg has to offer.

As for the e-currency exchanges, it doesn't matter if you have 250 posts or less, had an account for 3 months or less, or you pay $10 a month or nothing. The forum will still be filled with scammers. I have done a lot of e-currency trades with members who have just joined mmg and who only have a handful of posts. I asked these members for a verification of who they are: either a real phone number, address and a verifiable status of their account with paypal or stormpay. I have never been scammed by someone who gave me their real info. How do I know the info was real? I checked their info for validity using various resources on the internet.

$10 a month is a lot to many MMG members. Just my 2 cents.

The beauty is that no one has to pay a dime unless they want to use the currency exchange and Ad/Promo sections. Several forums stopped currency exchanges due to fraud and I can see why. It becomes more trouble for the admins/mods than the convenience for the members. There are a bunch of ecurrency exchange operations around also.

People are also free to go start their own forums and currency exchanges. That's the great thing about the net

I want in to upgrade, but don't have Paypal and a debit card atm. I will upgrade as soon as I get the chance tho <3 mmg.

so u think that toyota sales lexus at the same price in countries like india,china ,brasil or nigeria at teh same price it does in america, no they dont ,they sell it according to the purchaing power of those countries,but this decision doesnt take such views into consideration.

You can use other forums if you want to do currency exchange.

And I do think Jason did a good move on the upgraded accounts feature.
