Not that it pertains to anything, but some states in the U.S., you have to be 18 to gamble. If you are at least 18, you should be ok claiming it as gambling.

in the us, if you make enough money, you have to file taxes. that's just how it goes.

Where do you gamble? If a legal casino or racetrack pays you the IRS takes their cut right away if its unreported dont worry about it.
