I just tried logging into my own STP account and was met with a "Gateway Timeout" screen, so I copied this bit of information from an individual who logged into his STP account today. NOT encouraging! sad.gif

The United States, in its mandate to continuously protect its citizens against financial crimes, is now requiring all financial providers, regardless of country, to acquire full licensing in most states.

SolidTrust has begun working with your State's government to ensure we are fully compliant. Until this process is completed, you are not able to deposit or withdraw from your account. You may still purchase products & services directly via credit/debit card if the website you are buying from offers cards as a payment option.

We kindly ask that you refrain from contacting our support department to ask questions; instead, please read below for answers to the most commonly asked questions.

UNITED STATES REGULATION QUESTIONS

1. What happens to my account during this process?

» you are able to login as always, upgrade your account to any status, edit your passwords, refer others and exchange from one currency to another in your available balance. You are just not able to deposit funds into, withdraw funds out of, or transfer to another member or merchant directly.

2. Why didn't SolidTrust Pay already have licensing?

» new regulations covering the entire world came into effect only recently. Previous to the new regulations, companies outside the United States were not required to be licensed but now they are. SolidTrust has been working with its legal team since September, 2011 in preparation for these new regulations.

3. What happens if SolidTrust Pay refuses to acquire licensing?
» any company found to be in violation of the new USA regulations faces a minimum 5 year prison term and a fine of $2500 for every transaction recorded.

4. How long is this going to take?

» the regulation process can take up to a year depending on the state. As we acquire our licenses one by one, members in newly licensed states will be notified and full account services can be resumed by them.

5. Are other companies going to have to do this?

» Yes! Every payment processor in the world (ex: AlertPay, Liberty Reserve, OKPay, Perfect Money, etc) that has US citizens as clients, has to be licensed in all the US states requiring it. Any processor that does NOT is operating illegally. Any CEOs, directors, shareholders or principal owners of unlicensed companies would be arrested immediately upon entering the United States.

I too was able to log in, and was also unable to locate the message. From what I gather, this ONLY affects STP customers in the US (I'm in Canada).

I logged in and did not see any message or any reference to this subject. I requested a withdrawal and it went through OK. I am in California. Where is this info coming from. Is it false?

This is some bull story seems to be a hoax as it is no where to be found but one site on the net. And nothing on STP Blog.

Seems there is some truth to this:
Stella has responded to my message to her. Here is her message.....

Oh, I'm sure it will be pretty much mass pandemonium

Our plan is to create a forum just for affected STPay users and not
clutter up our present blog. We will be posting a release tomorrow
(today was spent with various MSB lawyers and FinCEN regulators, etc).

Basically, it has to be done and unfortunately, there is no way to do it
gracefully. As soon as you apply for a license, you cannot do any
transactions with anyone from the state you have applied to. So far,
that means North Dakota, Virginia and Arkansas. You would think that
a common sense way, especially for a non US company, would be some
kind of 'you can do this while waiting' but nope...it is an all or
nothing event here.

The real kicker is the 3 million dollar price tag that we have to come
up with. We are investing in our members.

What we really need is for people to not call us. There is no way we can
handle an influx of over 500,000 americans or more asking us what's going
on. The answer is simple..the US government requires all companies to get
licenses, so...we are getting our licenses. The how is easy, the when we
have no idea (but have been told as fast a month and as long as a year).

I'll keep you in the loop and you can hand the loop around for us

By the way...no accounts are frozen. People are completely free to login,
update passwords, verify their accounts, add cards & banks, etc. They just
cannot deposit into their accounts. All balances will be sent back to members,
so people are welcome to either request that now, spent it online, send to a
friend, whatever. And merchants that are credit card enabled have business as
usual...members can use their cards directly at their websites. Those merchants
won't be able to pay back into STPay accounts is all.

Life is never simple and the world is quietly going insane

as always

Had some minor log problems this morning. But my transfer went through and was able to fund my STP account. Used that same account to fund some programs... No problems so far. Wil request another transfer later this week.

On the bright side, Virginia will be fully compliant sooner than expected smile.gif

If you are in a U.S. based program and living in another country payments will probably be blocked to you also until your payment processor secures a license from the state where the program is!
This appears to be because of a Federal Mandate of some kind otherwise why would all 50 states suddenly be requiring licensing. This will throw the entire "Making Money on the Internet" industry into complete turmoil.
It stinks that there was no warning of this coming and that we were allowed no input on the decision. A lot of people will be hurt that depend on the income from the internet.
People, if you are a U.S. Citizen, please go to the polls in Nov. and vote this administration out! They are hell bent on taking over every aspect of our lives and examples of their overreach are popping up every day from fining a school $15,000.00 for having a pop machine turned on at lunch time to jailing a high school girl for truancy because she was working two jobs to support her family to forcing us to pay for birth control for people that can't control or don't want to control themselves to forcing us to approve of lifestyles that we don't approve of to shutting down industries that they don't approve of (coal for one) and on and on.
This will be spun by the administration as an effort to curtail money laundering but in reality it is all about them having the ability to regulate and tax us more.
Stella's comment that "the world is quietly going insane" is so true.
