Hi I need help if you will. I was told by someone to start using firefox especially when surfing. I tried downloading firefox. It loaded ok but tried to run it got message stating there was a problem loading the page and couldnot find server. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice still got same message. Any suggestions. Thank you in advance.
I've been using firefox for a long, long time now and absolutely love it.
Firefox is the way to go! I love its extensions system and the browser itself is secure, versatile and user-friendly.
I like firefox just because its a lot faster than other browsers by a long shot.

I started using Firefox because it was recommended as a work around for an IE problem I was having...There are some things I like about it but mostly I use IE
I use Firefox 95% of the time...
3% Opera... 2% IE...
You'll get much less popups with firefox. Firefox ftw!

QUOTE(v12kid @ Jun 21 2006, 08:43 PM) FF is the way to go if you ask me!! FF rocks on Linux. Whenever I'm at a windows machine with IE, I miss my extensions and tabs etc..
i'm a firefox user too. i just wish some pages and apps worked with it, like it does for ie, however for those..
i tend to use the ie tab extension
I use firefox to a fully extent. I even succeded in uninstalling iexplore on my computer. The .exe is uninstallable though but it's not compliant anylonger with windoz.
yeah... I know. A bit ridiculous but I really hate ie.
Firefox is great, but can be painful with its limitations.

I use Firefox on Linux and don't have any problem 99% of the time. I can't even fall back to IE unless I want to go through the hassle of emulating it in WINE. I'm a happy firefox user.
FireFox is the best browser....but don't forget to make the updates
I'm sorry. Firefox is not the best
I prefer Opera. I can't explain in english why, but you can test, and see. http://opera.com/
Opera had some real problems in the past I remember.
Opera is a very good browser. I'd just miss my extensions otherwise I'd probably be using opera 9. The 1st browser to pass the acid test.

i'm using firefox and like it , but its mail client is not working good ,it grap my mails but i cann't send mails with no reson at all............

Firefox doesn't have a mail client. Are you talking about Thunderbird? Just go to edit/account settings and at the bottom of your account list is your outgoing server settings. Fix that and you can send outgoing mail no problem. QUOTE(jafar00 @ Jun 25 2006, 05:11 PM) Opera is a very good browser. Safari is the first browser to pass Acid2 test. Opera is the second. Can you list the extensions you are looking for? I'll try to find out if they are available for Opera. Opera has always been the most innovative , the fastest and the most secure browser (unless you consider the really old versions, before v7 , the presto engine ) QUOTE(Indyan @ Jun 25 2006, 10:40 AM) Can you list the extensions you are looking for? I'm using Firefox to read my mails, surf my autosurfs and do clicks everyday. It's great with the extra extensions to block the popups
However, when surfing around the internet, I still prefer Opera as it's lighter (In my opinion). I use it on my spare laptop under linux. Works great.
Haha, we all know why we use Firefox.
Yea, but don't let that backfire on you. Somebody will catch you.

Forecastfox : Opera has TouchtheSky Offcourse there are more alternatives, but thats the one I use. You can also use Weather Pixie panel. Bugmenot : Yes. Opera has that too. You can either add a Bugmenot entry into your right click menu, or use a userjs. To use the script just press Ctrl+Shift+Double Click. Screenshot : http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i298/pal...ra/BugmeNot.jpg flashblock : http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=369379 Or http://userjs.org/scripts/general/enhancements/hide-objects translation : Use GTranslation http://widgets.opera.com/widget/4206 adblock : Opera has a content blocker built into it. There arent any great filters yet (like filtersetG), but hopefully that will be done soon by some community member. Meanwhile you can block content yourself. Copy as plain text : That is default Opera behaviour InfoRSS : Opera doesnt have a ticker like functioning, but it has a full fledged RSS feed reciever which notified you when there is something new to read. So it is really needed? I had blogged about customizing opera a while back. You can check it here .
Firefox is a great tool, sometimes better than explorer.
Using Firefox & Opera, they both are good tools to be used.

I'll check back on opera with your suggestions when Opera 9.0 hits portage (I use Gentoo linux).
I agree, it's all I :da: use and won't use anything different.
I like Firework too No Spyware or Virus. Is better than IE
firefox is just awkward for a guy like me who's been using IE for so long, it looks so different
I'm using firefox myself. Find it's very simple and user-friendly ( you can imagine how simple it is especially when it's coming from a gal's point of view.
The new IE is so confusing! Making it all icons just make it prettier but useless! It's really tedious as I would have to move my mouse over the icon to see what is the function for. Give me a drag down menu bar anytime!
I think it takes a little while to transition for IE users to Firefox because it "feels" different. Though I have to say, once you do get FF, you can never go back!
QUOTE(incomingdanger @ Sep 17 2006, 10:14 AM) firefox is just awkward for a guy like me who's been using IE for so long, it looks so different I know what you mean, but just consider the benefits (like more protection) as a good advantage to get used to it!!
I've been using for 3-4 months it's fast than IE
I recommend using firefox. Been using it for quite some time.
Recently started using a javascript blocking plugin with it.
I haven't noticed any speed difference between Firefox and the new IE, but I do like Firefox better because you can add extensions that all do different things. For example, I use Stumble Upon a lot--it's great and very addictive too.
Firefox was the 1st browser to use tabbed browsing, and that's a feature I always use. The new IE has that now, but Miscrosoft is just copying it. I use Opera sometimes, which lacks some of the features that FF has, but it's incredibly fast. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I think it's a bit faster than FF.
I prefer using firefox while surfing MMG, it just loads much faster then using IE with MMG.
Out of all the browsers, I really like MFF. It's more secured.
Mozillaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!
me too only using firefox
firefox what else is there I E sucks
i really dont like it at all
Do you guys know of a way to make Firefox latest version faster?
It seems slower recently for me... Maybe it's my lappy... |
