I am pretty new here and have been seeing a lot of posts about "HYIP" can anyone explain what that is? I do affiliate marketing but that's worked for me so I haven't really learned any of the other things out there..

Just curious.

Hi,
HYIP (High Yield Investment Program) is any investment program that offers high return and goes along with an corresponding high level of risk. Obviously from its name, an HYIP offers relatively higher returns compared to normal types of investments.

90% is just a SCAM.
9,9% is a “Ponzi Scheme” which pays you back with your own money and money from other gamblers.
0,1% is a legitimate business which actually invests the money and gives you a – small – share of their profit.

HYIP industry means "an ultimate tool to make money" for smart investors with diversified portfolios, and on the other hand it also means "lose everything and whine like losers" for individuals without proper guidance.

A quick but VERY important fact about HYIP industry is you can make more income from (supposedly) capital of $3000 USD in only a month, then having $30,000 USD invested in your local bank for a whole year. All you need is to do is (that I recommend) subscribe to one of prominent HYIP related Blogs and diversify your investment portfolio (there's a saying; never put all of the eggs in 1 basket).
