Another starting news is from GTC which say they would give 5000 applicants $24,000 if providing name and signature for investing in $1B with 18% return for their clients, because rule restrict max invest $200,000 so they need 5000 virtual investors. If the account they open in your name is a margin account, you could be liable for margin calls. If their trading falls below a certain price, the broker has the right to call you and ask you to cover losses.

Sounds a bit fishy if you ask me. Why would anyone want to give you $24,000 to trade. :S Makes no sense. The "firm" is probably dissolved or non-existent now.
