I was able to login just fine, and made 2 upgrades.
One with AP and the other LR. The AP one showed up right away,
but not my LR one. Should I wait to surf, Chris?
Don't want to mess up my account.

What's the current IP of the site? Adding the ip to the host file should fix all the problem
Anytime I move a website from one server to another there is always something that needs to be reconfigured. Lets give Chris a chance to access the site and adjust any configuration settings. This is surely just the DNS playing. Up and down. That is how DNS are, they take some time to resolve. but should be up everywhere pretty soon. Sometimes it happens that they resolve quickly on your area and then not again, then again then not again. Everything is configured properly already. Although if you access it via IP, you won't be able to do any actions inside the members area as the script license is for the domain surefiresurf.com and not the IP. I contacted the provider of the script but has not answered yet. What's the current IP of the site? Adding the ip to the host file should fix all the problem Yes, that's what I did .. it's 209.236.125.252 This is surely just the DNS playing. Up and down. I may make a step by step instructions on this and send a newsletter to everyone with a link to where the instructions are, however, I do not know the instructions on XP, maybe someone can make one? a screen by screen one. Great For XP the path is: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts Yes, that's what I did .. it's 209.236.125.252 It will work perfectly if you added the IP to the host file Yeah that's what I was looking for ... the IP address ... whois services I tried were showing old ip address Working like a charm as always This is surely just the DNS playing. By adding IP address to the host file you are not going to the site by IP directly! but manually mapping/updating IP address to host names ... for those who dont know yet how to do it open your host file n just add the line - QUOTE 209.236.125.252 www.surefiresurf.com Note that The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one space ... also if you get problem saving the file after adding the line then right click on the "hosts" file, go to properties n see if the read-only attribute is checked then uncheck it and after saving the file recheck the read-only attribute for safety If you dont know where to look for your host file then just search for "hosts" file in your windows directory
I am now able to connect with my DSL connection.
I turned off my DSL modem for 5 minutes. I then turned it back on and I was able to connect right away. The site comes up nice and fast. Anytime I move a website from one server to another there is always something that needs to be reconfigured. Lets give Chris a chance to access the site and adjust any configuration settings. Very true ... So Chris it'd be better to make sure 1st that everything is ok there Chris already posted that everything has been configured correctly. It will just take take for DNS to resolve. It resolves differently for different ISPs. Ohh missed that ...sorry ... but still I think there is nothing wrong to check twice to avoid any mess later just in case anything overlooked somehow 1st time... anyway thats just my opinion ... up to chris of course as he knows better what he is doing...
Sending a newsletter now.
Great news! SureFireSurf.com has been successfully moved to a new and more powerful dedicated server. With this transfer, the DNS has not fully resolved in all locations as of the moment so if you want to access surefiresurf now and you still cannot load it or still see the "WEBSITE MOVED" page. Then you can do these steps to gain access to the website now. For Windows Vista Users: http://209.236.125.252/vista.html For Windows XP Users: http://209.236.125.252/xp.html For Mac OS Users: http://decoding.wordpress.com/2009/04/06/h...c-os-x-leopard/ Just add the ip address 209.236.125.252 and domain surefiresurf.com or in some cases add another line , this time with www.surefiresurf.com . If you are unsuccessful in doing the steps above, please wait for the DNS to fully resolve in your area or try to use proxy first. I know this is not a convenient thing for you but trust me, this will be all worth it. Because the new server is much much more powerful and able to handle way more traffic than the previous one. Consider it a preparation for next years blast!
WOW definitely a lot faster than the old server!
