I feel that ever since a year or 2 ago, myspace has suddenly started to die...
since the up and coming of facebook myspace seems to have less and less people online. I often go online to see if any of my friends are on, and there are usually only 2-5 people. 3 years ago there used to be minimum of 100 friends at a time on my myspace.
does any one have a similar story they would like to share?
give me your oppinions!

Yeah they need to do something because Facebook is taking all their users. I get status updates all the time from friends saying "Moving to facebook" or something similar.
Still a good place to find new music though, since facebook hasn't got that covered as well as Myspace.

Ya i agree with you, Today More than the Myspce, some other social networking websites like Facebook and twitter are increasing their popularity day by day. But it's doesn't mean that Myspace is dying. you can say It's popularity rate is lower than the others popular networking websites.

Yep I agree, my____ blows facebook out of the water when it comes to media, but facebook will no doubt do the same. So... When will facebook be dieting? Lol -lionchild

I can’t disagree with, that MySpace is losing its users. Many of my friends also notice it, when they can find their friends online at usual time

Yes, same here. I left Myspace a while ago. But on the other hand, I spend less time for such networks in general.

my space is alive but it's not so powerful like 5 year ago

Alive but no way as near powerful as it was five years ago, the spammers got hold of it and ruined it for every other marketer, just as they will for Twitter and Facebook in the long run.
You have seen how Facebook have changed there layout in early Feb or late Jan of this year, so your web address is no longer displayed under your profile pic

For the lack of a better word: yes, it's dead. The MySpace of old (before Profile 2.0) was great for many reasons:
1) Simple pages that didnt take long to long. 2) Completely customizable. It was not uncommon to see a ".com" go to a MySpace page. 3) A ton of people were on it.
Now, with Facebook, and the advent of copy-cat sites, and the absolutely terrible "upgrades" to MySpace code and it's pages, it's not really a viable way to do things anymore.

I wouldn't really say that it is dead because there are still some people out there using the website. Check out the decline on it's traffic for the past few months.
CODE
http://siteanalytics.compete.com/myspace.com/
From more than 50 million users to about more than ten million. Pretty bad decline.

MySpace does't have a sizable audience, but his audience is stable!!1

Myspace used to be cool, and used to be simple enough where you could code it and use it as a legitimate ".com" type of thing.. now, they just did too much to it, and turned the layout into a confusing mess... it's dead.

It seems like Myspace is more music based-- I mean that's what I see when I go on there. So... is it worth putting your business opp out there. I haven't been on there for a minute, I think back in high school to be exact. Hmmm...

I used to see some pretty impressive band websites in myspace. I really dislike the new layout, and it looks like it's crippled people's abilities to customize their pages with full DIV layouts and such.

Yes, the myspace interface is pretty good you can put audio player their change your profile theme. customize your profile appearance and I think these are such a great things that a social media website is giving us. But on the other hand all facebook profiles appearance wise consistent there is very minimum change in the appearance, but myspace profiles are fully customizable :D

I think the "fully customizable" part is what is killing myspace. There is no uniformity from page to page, so it is difficult for the users to spy on other people's lives, which is what facebook is all about. Let's face it, on FB you can pull up your friends' pictures, see where they are working, see their spouse, see their kids, etc. quite easily. Myspace is better for sharing music, games, and homemade videos - teen stuff.
