Analysts at UBS AG note that the single currency is likely to be declining versus the greenback up to the end of 2010 as the futures traders decline the bets on the advance of the pair EUR/USD. Euro finds itself under pressure of sovereign debt crisis that has become the center of the financial markets’ attention.

The pair USD/CHF was also affected by the negative sentiment. The bears returned the rate to the levels seen 3 weeks ago at 0.9750. Here the greenback was supported by the Tenkan-sen (3).

The general outlook keeps being negative – the Ichimoku Cloud is descending and the Senkou Span A (1) is moving down. In addition, Kijun-sen (4) has also woken up and began declining. However, as the Tenkan is horizontal (3), such dynamics of the Standard line may mean that the corrective rebound will continue.

On the daily chart at the beginning of the week USD/JPY was trading above the Ichimoku Cloud, but on Thursday and Friday the rate was entirely under the bears’ control. As a result, franc’s rate slumped inside the Cloud breaking down the Standard line (4).

The Preceding lines (1, 2) are directed downwards, even though the Cloud’s descending.

This week he prices may go down to the bottom of the Kumo but the rebound is likely to resume.

The greenback fell retracing 50% of its November growth trading versus Japanese yen. The pair USD/JPY hit 3-week minimum at 82.35 at the Asian session. Technical analysts at Mizuho Corporate Bank believe that US dollar will be fluctuating between 82.00 and the top of the daily Ichimoku Cloud at 83.00 during the next sessions.

The specialists note that support levels for USD/JPY are found at 82.52, 82.31 and 82.00, while resistance levels lie at 82.80, 82.99/07 and 83.45.
