I want to learn affiliate marketing and what to do, but I don't want to pay for anymore affiliate programs that try to teach me affiliate marketing. I just keep wasting my money. I have a twitter account with 1400 followers, a facebook, a yuwie account, and I participate on a couple of forums. I also have AWeber, an autoresponder, and it's set up with campaigns. Problem is, no one wants to opt in even though I have created numerous splash pages and thrown them around the internet for people to see.

What am I doing wrong? I am tired of spending money and earning nothing. I would be happy just to break even. I'm not worried about profits yet, just breaking even with the junk I have already bought. I refuse to buy anything else, I just want to learn.
Uncle Awesome
Well, unless those 1400 followers are niche specific people, it won't really help much. Many members have found creating niche information websites with Google adsense on them to be rather lucrative. Maybe incorporate your mailing list into these sites and try to sell to them in the future.
ohmyluckystars88
I agree with Uncle Awesome. 1400 followers on twitter is no good unless they are niche specific. Its no better than the results you would get from a TE. SEO and articles are good for targeted customers. SEO is tricky though and takes time to figure out!

Oooohhh, you have an autoresponder! Have you tried list building yet? The money is in the list! That is where I make TONS of my back-end sales. One of the best techniques with list building is to "give away" free resell products such as software or ebooks (ebooks suck lol) to get people on your list. you can find a FREE site that allows you to create "gift" pages. It will help you grow your list fast!

I'm not sure what website/affiliate program you're associated with, but maybe you should change that.

Best of luck! Keep at it!

Actually you don't need to pay to learn about affiliate marketing. There are many sources freely available on the net you can refer to educate yourself on this field. And like Ohmy said, getting an autoresponder is a good start. AWeber is one of the leading autoresponder services on the internet.

Well I cancelled my AWeber, because after months of trial and error I still have not made enough profits to even pay for AWeber each month. Why is it that I can create a GPT site and get thousands of members and profit in the first week but nowhere near that if I were to make a blog for affiliate marketing. I never understood affiliate marketing anyway.

Guides I see have said that it is selling another product. I'm tried of selling products that just teach you how to sell products and that I have to buy them before I am able to resell them. I find it stupid.

I tried my first campaign with toms shoes selling shoes and such, but I got nothing on it at all, not even a single penny. I'm not that great at web design, so I always revert to creating a blog about products, but there's only so much you can talk about one single product. I was always told to focus on one product and get some sales before getting into another product.

I just don't know... GPT sites have made me more profit in 1 week than affiliate marketing has in 6 months.

This is true, there are many free resources for learning about affiliate marketing. What has worked for me is to learn as much as I can and to set up my websites first and then begin to pay for an autoresponder. I think Aweber is the best autoresponder to use. It is very user friendly and has great support.

You can have 1mill followers on twitter and you could still not make 1c. Here's what you should do.

Test your splash pages, spend some money on google adwords to drive traffic to these splash pages (Usually $20-40 would be enough). If you don't manage to get any sales then there's something wrong with either your splash page, the product or the keywords you used to bid on.

Once you start making sales on adwords you can then either up your campaign until you start making a profit or start promoting the splash pages with web 2.0. forget about twitter twitter is so full of junk nowadays that if you start posting links people will just unfollow you, and if they don't then most probably they're not taking any notice of your links at all...

There is no question that Internet marketing is one of the easiest methods to start. But without the proper knowledge of key skills, it is not exactly the easiest business to build and grow. I was in this cycle for many years. Gaining so much knowledge in a very short amount of time, only to find out that there was more knowledge to be found. Quickly I was becoming frustrated and burning out. I was purchasing this ebook and that program but still, I was not making any progress in my Internet marketing business. I was only becoming more confused and ready to throw in the towel.

There are free resources available but even that for a newbie it can be overwhelming. Just do not rush the learning, there is no right or wrong, do not spend more money, google has everything. Whatever you want to learn look in Googol but do not jump from one aspect to another, the web is called that for a reason, plan your day and tell yourself what you wanted to learn today and focus, and DO NOT rush it. The internet is here to stay and there is still money to be made.

Online marketing can take some time to really get going, many people think because you can start it for little or no money - that profits should just start rolling in, but unfortunately that's not how it works. There is a lot of great information in forums like these, so take a look around and then once you get enough info to get started, try to put a plan into action and just go for it... so many people will try to learn too much that they never get around to actually doing it. There are a lot of free ways to promote, blogs, social networks, forums, traffic exchanges, article marketing. You can do it, but it doesn't happen overnight

Affiliate marketing has nothing to do with HYIP, or investment schemes

With affiliate marketing you are usually promoting a product that someone actually wants.. something they find useful. Anything from a self-help book to electronic sales to legal advice.

Any company can set up an affiliate program which pays a % of what they make back to the person who actually made the sale... similar to working on a commission in a store. Check out some of the web hosting companies... most of them have their own affiliate programs.

Nothing like HYIP at all.

Not even close. rolleyes.gif Affiliate marketing doesn't cost a dime to start and you can make money with it will totally FREE methods. You can invest money later on once you are making it to put back into your affiliate marketing business but it is not necessary.

Affiliate marketing is basically selling other people's products and services and you earn a commission each time you make a sale. With the right training, it can be pretty simple to do and earning a daily income from it is totally realistic.

I recommend PotPieGirl's blog to get started...She has some great information. If you haven't heard of her..just google that name..She is like the Affiliate Marketing Guru..

Anyway, I've learned so much from her...she really knows her stuff.

Let's see...as far as list building with affiliate marketing, try offering something for free such as a free report, ebook or newsletter in exchange for a person to opt into your list. This can be done through article marketing, forum signatures, social network sites, etc. People LOVE free things. They opt into your subscriber list to receive their "free gift" and BAM...they are now your subscriber and you can start sending them email on your affiliate marketing products. Try to mix up your email campaign though with informative information and promotional emails. You do not want all your messages to be overly promotional.

To succeed as an affiliate, you will have to focused, set you goal and work out ways to achieve it. Visit forums and blogs to learn what others are doing. Most ebooks you see today are product or duplicate of what you find in forums and blogs. Just be patient, take your time and do your research and I can assure you, in no time you will find your feet. Affiliate marketing is not as easy as people claim, it requires a lot of hard work.

Good luck.

How to make $1,000 a day???

By selling programs about how to make $1,000 a day. Lighten.gif

I've never bought one of those programs, but I bet that's how some work.

I bet if you could rip off enough people you could make $1,000 a day nono.gif But then again, you have to be able to sleep at night.

Some of the guys trying to sell courses about how to make $1,000 a day don't even know basic seo, in one vid I saw a guy talking about the importance of meta-keywords for Google rank, post-36326-1110185726.gif , and yes, it was a recent video.

Btw, this forum has the most awesome collection of smiles I've ever seen. thumbup(1).gif

Since you have most of the lead generation stuff already set-up, what you need to do now is to create one system. This is good idea because you can quickly see what's working and what's not. Here is what I mean...

1. If you have opt-in pages spreaded across the Internet then you have exposure. But no one seems to be signing up. This means that you need to work on your copy-writing skills. Also make sure you're offering right products to the right audience.

2. Once you get enough traffic and sign-ups then you should work on your conversion strategy

3. Find enough products to promote once you build your own list. And to really make BIG money you should consider creating your own products. You know, funneling!

4. Also, make sure to overwhelm your list with value - free reports, good blog posts and so on... this will lead to better stickiness and as a result more money for you!
