We all know that Google evaluates a certain website based on a lot of factors. Would you guys know what are those factors that they consider the most important?

the exact factors are a secret that only google knows but the ones you and the other people mentioned are definitely some of the most important factors. another one is having your keywords as part of your domain name or somewhere else in the url.

having had a couple of webiste the number one spot of google I would have to say that keywords is the biggest factor. What is your Page all about? That's what google looks at. Now quality of the backlinks is good too the you can become number one on google without having but a couple of back links.

Well, I agree with almost all the post and am of the view that both, content submission to the authority blogs, article directories, free blogs and social communities and backlinking both are most important factors for Google.

google algorithm changing rapidly, you can`t say google always focus on that thing, but google give priority for site content and interilnking.

Google consider unique content and quality backlinks for boost you ranking. If you use copy content Google count it in duplicate content and if you post your link on irrelevant websites that is called spamming and ... more. All are effect your ranking and if you caught using it, your website may be ban.

For me, these are the important factors for Google:

- Site On-page optimization
- Quality content
- Branding
- and, Off-page optimization

Google actually has a guidelines for all SEO regarding what they want



I don't really understand why some people neglect and ignore the fact that Google itself has its guideline now. I know alot of people hasn't read that one. Anyways, with regards to what google want, don't think about it 100%, always remember that you create the website for the users (people who will make you money) and optimize it for the websites (not one sides thingy where everything is about the search engines)

I definitely agree that Google is one of those interesting sites out there. The factors that you have mentioned are those that have existed for quite some time now. What I'm really interested to know from webmasters/SEOs out there is on what they think are the new factors affecting SERPs ever since CAFFEINE, MAYDAY and PANDA.

With all the updates Google is implementing at one point or another, it's quite hard keeping up with them in terms of their standards of what they think is right. Though that is definitely good for someone in it for providing quality and unique contents and not for those into autoblogging, etc.

I definitely agree. One reason why some website owners are very afraid whenever there is a major update with search engines is that they may loose ranking for crappy SEO methodologies. What Google does with their algorithm is something we all should be doing with our websites as well, that is to improve the services to our users.

1) Proximity to location
2) Keywords within company name
3) Categories selected
4) Local telephone numbers
5) Having a full profile/reviews
6) Locational information on website
7) Strong SEO
