On one computer, I get three different IP addresses from whatismyip.com (one within AOL, one in mozilla and one in Netscape).
If that isn't enough, I get a completely different IP address from netiba and stormpay.
So, how accurate are those sites?

You are on a dynamic IP connection. It will change every time you sign on to the internet.
click on start-->run-->type cmd--->at command prompt type ipconfig. This is one of the most accurate way of determining ur ip address.
great, thanks alot

Nope, I'm not on a dynamic IP connection. I have a broadband/internet connection that never disconnects, and I get all of those "results" at the same time. Kelvin, thank you SO much! I'm happy to have an accurate answer!
Even though you have a broadband connection doesn't mean you have a static IP address though. Your IP can still change all the time. You can confirm you have a static IP by calling your ISP.
That's static. I have the same thing going on here. AOL, IE and Firefox, all different. THough I don't use IE for anything anymore.
me too me too !!!

Ipconfig tells you the main IP of your ISP usually.

never had such problem... it just cant me that you have static IP but every site shows different.
QUOTE(nenumphar @ Dec 29 2005, 03:22 PM) I think ipconfig tells you the IP address of your own computer. But usually through the main ISP you're a member of. Most broadband connections from cable co's and ISP's are not static. If they gave you a truly static IP, you could run your own mailserver, webserver, ftp site from your home and they want you to pay more more more to be able to do that. NUK
never turn off your computer doesnt mean u will have the same ip all the time... u can go yo myipaddress.com to check...
So if you ip chages every so often how can program like 12p (12 daily pro)
find out if you have cheated them by using more then one account |
