Call IntGold tomorrow and see what they can do if they do anything at all.
Leen
always good to make sure your passwords are changed on a regular (more than once a month) basis. and that any funding accounts have different ones!
keep a HAND WRITTEN list - not on your pc - of the programs u are in, the user name (use different ones as well) and the passwords.... when you change them - dont just rotate them around - CHANGE them completely. use number and letter combos for more versatility.

am very sorry this has happened...but I know from seeing it happen to other people that IntGold is good for helping out. Problem u are experiencing now is that they are not open for customer service on the weekends.

sorry to hear that....you may have a trojan, keystroke logger in your system...INTGold is hard to hack with the 2 passwords.

Panda Software has a free online virus/trojan scan that finds alot the others seem to miss.

Thanks mobile and leen for advice smile.gif

I will try to call IntGold on Monday morning to change my second password at least.

My existing 2nd password is 10 numbers and letters combine. The password is totally different from the password I use for other doublers. And I just changed my IntGold password one day before account got hacked. I also install ZoneAlarmpro and Ad-aware in my pc as well , but still happened.

sorry to hear that acb ... check your computer for virus or trojan

I will find that thread I mentioned for you and you have some good resources there...

I had some issues after the hacker fiasco here on MMG and I just installed this Trojan Hunter last night and found 2 remote Admin trojans that was sending info out. It's free for 30 days but I'm going to buy it anyways. It has live scanning as well.

Zonealarmpro and ad-aware are not good enough. I think you need more profesional protection like Norton Internet Security.

And make sure you are not accesing your INT-gold account in public computer. Most of the public computer are installed with key logger or trojan that could steal your important personal information. I always heard about people lost their bank money because they access their online bank account at public computer. Even though that's not safe enough to access your account at your friend's computer. You will never know that your friend's computer is safe enough to do these transaction?
tiencan
get a mouse click type software keyboard install on the pc. You can click on the virtual keyboard to login so trojan can keylog you. Your pretty much safe there, also use random password for the password and do update the password once awhile. I personally write down about 10 password on my binder and then switch it every year, mix and match. Then use the virtual keyboard to type it in. Alot safer smile.gif.

Probably about the only way you can get hack from Intgold is via keylog or someone made a fake Intgold website that look like a real one. Same goes for e-gold. They can alway video capture your screen but you will notice it really quick ( very slow computer even though nothing running). Chance for that to happen is slim, that feature is not very stable is likely to crash the pc.

Also, dont use your intgold password for your doubler password....trusty admin can never be trusted with money. and dont leave it in your computer.

Pretty much common sense smile.gif did i miss anything?
TheMobileHookup
The problem is there is probably a keylogger.

And Norton is not nearly as good as people think. Not according to my testing anyway.

This is why I usually scan with 2-3 different scans, not all scans can catch everything.
alexeow
Personally I still feel that Norton is one of the best security product. I used Norton Internet Security almost 3 years already and had never faced any problem. The important thing is to keep update to the latest version. They also have a famous liveupdate feature to keep your software updated with the latest security protection.
Kenny
with no failed attemps it sounds like someone had a trojan or keylogger. Unless you used a internet cafe or something other than your own personal cpu to login to your money accounts. If you use wireless make sure u add aditional decoding. etc....
Brian_wo
I feel stupid for even saying this because I was a huge believer in adaware but it blows right along with spybot search and destroy.

On my desktop I had spyware that was causing browsers to pop up everytime I clicked on a new site,it was driving me nuts, adaware and spybot both found some stuff but the browsers kept popping up so I went hunting for a better program,I ended up with spysweeper 3.2 and it found hundreds of items!
you can download a 30 day free trial and see what it finds .

After all spyware is gone then you can go on to bigger and better cleaning,I love this program.

it's not cheap to buy and should you like to try it out I can help with that(wink wink nudge nudge) smile.gif
many nights when I am done for the night I hit safe shut down and walk away,it can take up to 2 hours but when it's done your puter is spic and span, remember the scene in finding nemo where they got the new tank cleaning system? biggrin.gif it's about that good wink.gif
acb2868
Thank you all for advice. smile.gif

I will be more careful online now.
There is some good info here for me and for other members also.

Glad it found them for you, make sure to use the scanning feature to catch them before they make it to your hard drive. For $50 you can't go wrong protecting your computer.

I hope people are using online scans as well. As stated before there is no perfect scan. One may get somehting that the other doesn't.

True, but you want to stop it before it infects your computer. I use 4 - 6 different programs to keep the it out. I didn't see anyone mention Pest Patrol, it works very well.
TheMobileHookup
There are a lot out there but the 3 virus scans I mentioned 2 are online and work very good and the 3rd is a free one which I don't recommend for newbies because one click and you can screw your system.

But don't stop at one trojan scan.

Ad-Aware is not a true trojan scan, gets adware, malware and things like that. It's NOT protection from true trojans or virii.
paydays
Actually, I tried Pest Patrol scan online and it found tons of stuff that all the other ones did not. I still have not purchased it though but I notice that the Trojan Hunter found many of the things that PP did. I will have to decide which one to buy between the two.

Hmmm, I just did an online scan with Pest Patrol and it didn't find anything. That is a first. Looks like the Trojan Hunter is really good.

Trojan Hunter may be good, but I notice that it detects some things as trojans when they are not.
Brian_wo
guys,go download the 30 free trial of spy sweeper 3.2
if you don't like it at the end of the 30 days then just delete it.

WORST VIRUS EVER ---CNN ANNOUNCED

PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE ON YOUR CONTACT LIST !!

A new virus has just been discovered that has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive ever. This virus was discovered yesterday afternoon by McAfee and no vaccine has yet been developed. This virus simply destroys Sector Zero from the hard disk, where vital information for its functioning are stored.

This virus acts in the following manner:
It sends itself automatically to all contacts on your list with the title:
"A Card for You".

As soon as the supposed virtual card is opened the computer freezes so
that the user has to reboot. When the ctrl+alt+del keys or the reset button are pressed, the virus destroys Sector Zero, thus permanently destroying the hard disk. Yesterday in just a few hours this virus caused panic in New York, according to news broadcast by CNN.

This alert was received by an employee of Microsoft itself.
So don't open any mails with subject: "A Virtual Card for You." As soon as you get the mail, delete it!! Even if you know the sender !!!

I was about to download this, but as a newbie now I'm a little afraid to delete something I shouldn't
I've only used Adaware & Norton Systemworks. Any suggestions? Don't want to mess anything up, but want to keep my computer clean too.
thanks

You can download the trial version or the free version without background scanning. It good for malware, Trojans, worms and a lot more.

Very sorry to hear that, acb. I seemed to have read in this forum previously that Ownagesoft also lost about $500 from his Intgold account thru a hacker. But he got the money back after he contacted Intgold. I hope you do get your money back too.

I installed Spyware Begone two weeks ago when I don't know what I clicked on and lost control of my computer. With it I was able to get things back to normal. Do you think it's a good one or should I get something better?

Also, do you think it's safe to keep passwords on Word and then copy and paste? How safe is this is? (I was told it's very safe)

I don't know if it matters or not, but for my bank accounts, etc I do not keep my passwords saved on my computer. I have an address book on my desk just for my passwords etc...
freedom
I do not keep passwords saved on my computer. User names in e-mails from companies is bad enough.

I tried out Trogan Hunter and I did not have anything detected. That's good.
