Do I need a credit card to receive money from paypal? Or to pay?

Because I want to get my pays through PayPal, and then buy things with that and so on.

No, you can receive payments even without a credit card BUT you will NEED a credit card to verify your account. IF your account is not verified, access to your account is limited. Limited meaning, it's possible that you may not be able to withdraw your money from your account or send money. It depends. Try browsing the help pages of PayPal regarding limited accounts.

Yes that is the other option to verify the account. The other is using a credit card.

But that is not his question. His question is in receiving funds. And the answer is no. Credit card is not a requirement to receive funds o your PayPal account. In fact you can receive payments or funds even if your account is not verified. The downside of not having a verified account though is it is limited.

In that case, you won't have any problems at getting money to your PayPal account (even from Credit Cards) and then spending it or withdrawing it as you're fully verified.

Even getting verified doesn't garantuee you won't run into problems with PP once my friend's verified acc got limited when he sent someone USD140 and had him calling them wasted his time! Go figure!

You mean to accept payments into your PayPal account or to withdraw money in your account to your bank account? Like the others said, you don't need a credit card to accept payments up to a certain amount of money. But to withdraw your money, you need to get your account verified, and using a credit card is an option of PayPal account verification.

Yes, you need a Credit Card to have your money out. You can withdraw them to a bank account too if you're from US.

To pay using PayPal you need money - you can either fund your account via Credit Card or get money from other people for services, etc...

Actually you would need a credit card if you want to withdraw your money to your credit card. Otherwise you can withdraw it to your bank account in some of the countries where PayPal is available.
