I was surfing the web looking for paid traffic but cheap at the same time and i found some offers advertising 10.000 visitors at just 9.99$. Very cheap i thought, then i just browsed google for the name of the companies and found many compliants about them, many people said they was just scam. I thought 9.99$ per 10.000 visitors means 0,1 cents per one untargeted visitor: it's clearly nonsense, also because who can offer 10.000 visitors in a certain period of time can monetize it better instead of selling it to me for just 9.99$.
Then i saw some offers coming from traffic exchange networks: they sell 1000 visitors per 5$ and that is 0,5 cent per just one visitor and so i sought the web to find how such traffic convert and find complaints here too talking about it as a traffic that produces zero sales also on products that elsewhere sell great.
The alternative to all of this seems Google Adwords that anyway, from my viewpoint, can be very expensive. You get quality traffic but you pay it gold.
So between Adwords and cheap traffic there are midways that are cheap but worthy to be bought too ?

Bottom line is that the traffic has to be quality. Just getting visitors to click on your site is of hardly any value.

In given sectors you can have real visitors (non bots, non autosurf) for 1,50 USD for 1000, from reputable companies that clean up their own traffic properly (no bots, no proxies etc). Of course they are classified as "low productivity" traffic categories, but Internet Marketers who know their field can have a use for them. Any price lower than 1,40 USD per 1000 visitors is junk and scam.

Ever read / heard about "Adsense click fraud on content network"? Your competitor may also click on your ads on the SERPs page itself, just to deplete your budget...

Most of cheap traffic exchange program brings traffic from "Pay to View" method. Users just visit your site to get "points". They will stay 30 seconds on the site. It is very hard to receive real traffic from those methods.

Don't trust those things. Just find other ways to promote your site. there's a lot of ways to do that

I think if you have to pay for traffic then the chances are you aren't doing something right. Maybe your content needs to be improved. I think I would only pay for content as a trial to see if it could kickstart things when they get slow.

I disagree , You might have a new site and want some traffic sent to it so you buy traffic , doesnt mean your doing something wrong , or even if you do have a big site you may just want to get traffic from the UK for example, Yes content is a factor but also buying content i would say no, Look around , see how other people are doing it, write articles and then sell your content to people etc

I think it really depends on how targeted the traffic is and how related your content is to the content that your visitors are being referred from.
Ive had a good time and bad time with purchased traffic.
e.g - 5,000 hits got me 2,500 leads @ $3 each. Then the next week i tried the same traffic provider i only got 50 hits from 6,800 hits. So it really depends on how targeted the traffic is and where its coming from

I don't see where you wanna go with cheap traffic ? You could use some PPC to start up boost your site but focus should always be on organic traffic

Those traffic sources usually are horrible. Adwords is a much better source of traffic. You need to remember it's not about how much traffic but how qualified is that traffic. If someone comes to a site with the keyword camera, chances are they are not there to buy anything. If they come to the site with the keyword buy canon elite xli digital camera, you know that the person is there to spend money.

In addition to what I posted before, just like what the saying says: You get what you paid for. So if it's cheap, don't expect to get more traffic on your website.
