that dosn't seem to be a very secure idea! Back-up your passwords to yahoo briefcase. If your yahoo gets hacked so do those files.

I do not keep Passwords on the computer at all and do not let any programs remember them on the computer.

Save to disk or better yet do not put them in any file at all on your computer. I also print all sites I have a membership and leave space to fill in the user name and password by hand after I print it off. Save copy to my safe as well as phone #'s I may need.

If you do not use a firewall, virus, spyware or ad-aware program you are not only foolish but risk everything you have done in the past. Also add a router - prices from $60 to hundreds. Do your sofeware updates 2-3 times a week and scan you system often. Remove Cookies and temp files often. I do it after each session.

We are in a business to make money and secure our future for ourselves and our families.

SECURING your computer is a necessity! Not a game like some that we play in these programs. Take it Serious, for you.

If a company sends you your user name and password in a e-mail. You better remember it and delete the email file. If a company send your pasword in every e-mail request they remove it for security reasons. If they are unwilling to do so I will not use that company or will only spend small amounts.

I do not click links in my e-mail from pay processors or companies I deal with. Go to the site directly to make changes.

You may also notice that if you try to copy and paste a email to a word doc. Some html from companies will have ad-ware or spy-ware attached in the coding on that email.

Be careful - Be secure - Be Safe --- It's your money and your future. Limit your risk at all costs.

Use different user names and passwords for each pay-processor you have. Different Pswords for each company you use. Don't make it easy for someone to guess. Don't use ssn#'s in any fashion, DOB, pet names of yours or combinations of them.

I may be a bit extreme in some areas of security and what I do. BUT!

I want to keep my profits biggrin.gif how about you? dry.gif

My feelings and thoughts on the matter only. I am not a expert in this field, but am willing to learn more. Or better ways from what I have now.

This is a post I placed elsewhere but should be in this thread as well.

Advice...

I'll post the links that are in that post.

Change passwords if you feel you're not secure, and try not to use the same for everything. I used to but never had a problem that made me change them. Seems lately that with people making money and people losing money, some people are getting jealous and trying to hurt you.

A great firewall is ZoneAlarm and you can get a free version. I think it's still http://www.zonealarm.com

For virus scanning I use 3 to make sure because not all scans get everything.

Panda Online Scan http://www.pandasoftware.es/activescan/activescan-com.asp

Panda is one of the best, if you have the stand alone version you're in good shape.

Trendmicro Online Scan http://housecall.trendmicro.com

This one usually catches annoying virii

The Cleaner can be found here http://www.moosoft.com/

The Cleaner is a great trojan cleaner, trojans and keyloggers are a killer.

Of course you want to have a scan that runs all the time, Norton, Mcafee and others are out there. McAfee is better than Norton on some things and vice versa but no scanner gets everything.

AVG is a free scanner but if you move virii to the virus vault you can screw up your system if it's an important file. I had to reformat to fix it. So be careful with your settings.

You should scan your system at least once a week and make sure you update just as often.

I think that should put you on the road to safety.

Everyone should their e-commerce accounts if they used the same user names and passwords as for other programs. When you login to Intgold it will show failed login attempts. If you have some, check the IP address and then the one you you just logged in from.

If you have used the same login and password on this forum as you did with any other program the hacker now has your Name, Address, Phone # and may also have your e-gold and stormpay account #'s.

Check your accounts and change your passwords

With programs where you provided you name, addr, and ph # a hacker can and will get your Date of Birth and SSN#.

I would advise that you get copies of you credit reports from equafax ph# 8005256285, Transunion # 8006807289 and experion? (spelling) # 8883973742

If you feel your security has been compromised File a fraud report with them. each one will notify each other. You should contact the FTC ID theft hotline and file a report as well. They will advise you contact each of the above to file a report not just 1 of them. Fed. Trade Comm. Hotline # 8774384338.

If a hacker gets into your pay processor they may have your Credit Card info as will as your bank routing #'s. With you name addr and phn# problems will arise.

Check you banks, Credit cards etc... make sure everything is OK and that no suspicious activity has taken place. Put a password on the account so no changes can be made in the future without the Password being provided. It is also a good idea to do this with your Utilities - phone, gas and electric.

If hacker has you personal info they will try to get services in other states.

Take the time now to check your accounts and put these measures in place.

You can do a free scan from the above. this is a good site for Info. You can also check to see that your firewall is working correctly and that all ports are closed.

Be Safe, Secure, Sure - Then get back to money making tongue.gif
