Federal raid targets local online business

GREENVILLE —
A local online payment business is the subject of a federal fraud investigation, which resulted in the company being raided Friday by agents of the United States Secret Service and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Several agents remained in the offices of Internet Gold Incorporated, 3931 Joe Ramsey Boulevard, late Friday night.

Special Agent B. J. Flowers with the Secret Service said the company was the focus of an ongoing investigation.

“We served a federal search warrant on the business this afternoon,” Flowers said.

Flowers said no arrests had been made in connection with the investigation. He declined to specify what the agents were looking for or the basis of the investigation against the company.

“It was a big search warrant and we’ve got a lot of stuff to look at,” Flowers said.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department assisted with the serving of the warrant, which took place at around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Police Chief Harold Roseberry said the investigation involved allegations of fraud.

“We’ve been working with them on it for a long time,” Roseberry said. “The investigation has been going on for more than a year.”

According to the company’s web site, Internet Gold Incorporated, based in Greenville, was found in February, 2002. The company is described as a digital currency, online payment system and IntGold account processor. Internet Gold Incorporated also owns the InGoldcard ATM debit card system.

Other sources list Mark Comer of Greenville as the chief executive officer of the company and Jeff Koleski as the vice president of marketing.

No telephone listings could be found Friday for either Comer or Koleski in Greenville.

Messege from goldnow.st..

Guys, e-gold is still down, and despite runours to the contrary, they'll be up again soon.

Update! As advised, e-gold is again working, and we are starting to pay the backlog of orders... some orders will be delayed, as our normal suppliers are a tad jittery. Which means we have to go traditional routes to obtain e-gold (one of these days I'll know just EXACTLY how much to order, in advance!)

The ponzi scheme investigation, as advised to me by Mike Comer CEO (INTGold) last month, is now happening. Only a month LATE...! INTGold admin requested the feds to check out some (in INTGold's admin opinion) fraudulent ponzi schemes (which used at least 4 well known market makers/exchangers, who SHOULD have known better), some of which was discussed in depth last month at the e-gold chat list. INTGold themselves are NOT under investigation, in spite of over zealous reporting on behalf of a Greenville, TX newspaper.

Please note: the INTGold site is operating normally, and spends are still being made. As expected! If you need to make an urgent e-gold spend today, I'd recommend that you use INTGold instead. Excluding PayPal, e-gold and INTGold are the two largest efunds in the world.

On an unrelated note, I have decided to start dealing in e-bullion again.

Has anyone tried reaching Jeff or anyone else at IG today? Just wondering. I have tried, but with no luck. Just a voice mail both for Jeff and IG office.

I have heard over and over again, it's not IntGold they are investigating, but some ponzis who were using INtGold to rip people off.

I know IntGold has said their policy is to have companies/people investigated by the authorities if it looks like they are really ripping people off. I have heard Jeff say that to me before personally. So my thoughts are that IntGold is okay until I see the site down or something on their site about the mess.

NO, you not true.

Read this..

even more from the main news, why they get "raided" if they are good. If what you say true, then they just invite fbi.

I received an email from someone that knows both Mike and Jeff very well and he can not reach them even at their home numbers. They simply are not taking or returning any calls. The person I received the email from thinks that most likely they will not be reachable at all during the investigation.

I wonder if Koleski and Comer are even around Texas at this point. With all the fraud suits that have been filed recently against them in Texas, I'd be looking for a different country if I were those two. Secret Service? It suddenly isn't a *game* any more when you have both the FBI and Secret Service involved.
