It is with a very heavy heart that I announce that Steve Irwin, "The Crocodile Hunter", is dead.

Steve died instantly today during the filming of a documentary in North Queensland, Australia.

He was pierced through the heart by a stingray, despite 30 mins of trying to revive him, he died.

Love him or not, Steve was an important member of my community, with some 370 people being employed at Australian Zoo.

Steve leaves a wife Terri, and two young children, Bindi, and, Bob. Steve may well be the world's best known Australian.

R.I.P Steve, and condolences to your family and friends.

Hi Pete wave.gif

Sad news indeed. Ironic after all the skirmishes with crocs that it's a stingray that gets him.

Definitely one of the world's great characters has been taken from us. sad.gif

It made big headlines here in the UK and people were as stunned as you must have been.

We pass on our sympathies as well.

The whole Town, is stunned.

Because the Zoo is so close to where I live, everywhere you drive you see a picture of Steve Irwin(billboard)

The water here is alive with stingrays, and we all ignore them, there would not be a single local that has not stepped on one, or nearly stepped on one. Generally we consider them as harmless, as they get out of your way very quickly.

The staggering thing is that Steve pulled the barb from his chest, and it was all caught on film, I sincerely hope that this film is seen by the coroner, and nobody else, as it would be a terrible thing for his family to witness.

O.M.G. What a week!

First Steve Irwin, and now the legendary racing driver Peter Brock.

As a young man I knew 'Brocky' well.

9 times Bathurst winner, and LeMans winner.

RIP Peter Perfect.

Have you used this best gold card before?

I too am looking to withdraw some cash soon too.
Please PM me a link also, why not give you the commish??!!

For those of you not members yet, EZsurfnearn is one of the more quiet threads here at MMG.
Pays on time and has never had any problems. well worth a look as paying long lasting sites are hard to find. EZ is a little known gem, just take a look at the thread...there are never any problems!!
EZ is flying under the radar and growing day by day. Pays on expire, no 7 day wait!!

Brownlow...Adam Goods
Flag....West coast.
Thats my picks!!

What did Steve Irwin and Brocky have in common??
They both died doing what they loved to do.

RIP Steve & Peter
aussiefox
Watched Brocky's funeral yesterday, and Steve's today.

Both so sad, but was in tears watching Steve's memorial service.
Pete, you were right, the young fella did a wonderful job - saw it on the news tonight.
Tragic that such a wonderful man's life had to end like that sad.gif ....the same age as me.

My young son was particularly upset over Steve's death, and my elder son over Brocky's.

Both hold a special place in Australia's hearts.

With best gold card I don't have a ref link, in as much as that b's not what I am about.

I have used it every week now for nearly 3 months, always immediate, never experienced any down time at all.

Congratulations on the Swans winning Pete.......they're the best of the interstate bunch, I still think of them as South Melbourne smile.gif

Redan lost the Grand Final yesterday, to Sunbury, but Linton won over Skipton biggrin.gif

So the men in my household were out most of the night. Daryl umpired the GF for Ballarat, and Bradley's mates all play footy for Linton.

Edited to add OOPS!! Redan won blush.gif

The Swans are going really well, could I dream that after a lifetime on the bottom of the table, they might be back to back premiers?

if you find it's a bit off topic and feel that im trying to selling business here, please just ignore it...i dont want to spam you guys, but we are sincere people and want to do a long term business. Anyway we're here all for making money, isnt it?

Im sure that our service and our favourable fee wont disappoint you .

@jamjean,

Sorry to say this, but this is really not the appropriate place to sell us exchange services. There is a folder for this, I'm not going to push any buttons, but, please keep it in the appropriate area. Aussies read he exchangers folder too.

I'm in Ballarat, it was a nasty 35 degrees here....not that I mind the heat so much, but that northerly wind was bad....spot fires here there and everywhere, and the poor CFA guys were out in force. We seem to have had months of windy days. Personally, I love the wind I find it really refreshing (not the northerly's), but I know most people hate it.

Pete, I haven't been around much of late, no reason to be here really, and apart from that, as you know, it has been a really busy time for us lately. Things are settled down now, and life has returned to normal (well, normal as I know it....... tongue4.gif ).
Today is the first day of my 'fitness phase' and I am off for a walk around Lake Wendouree, - what's left of it, that is. It's a gorgeous day, and yes, it is very windy with the sun shining, and nice and crisp....my perfect day biggrin.gif

You would have to be the only person I know that actually likes wind. Wind gives me headaches and draws my energy. I like a cool breeze on a hot day, but prefer it hot than strong cool winds. Northerly winds like the other day was just too much. I took a sandwich outside and within 20 seconds it felt like toast. blink.gif

Got to 37 here too, it knocks you when you're not used to it. I can handle that fine when it's summer because you get a lead up. Going to be a hot summer if this is anything to go by.

I stay well clear of telstra. They are the biggest rip off telecommunications company in Aussie. I had the ombudsman on a case for me for over a year with them. I won in the end. They over bill and you have to look over your bill with a fine tooth comb unless you want to be ripped off. Their customer service sucks as you get handballed from department to department. They have the lowest download limits for the highest price.

Plenty of options for dialup out there that are cheaper and you wont get hit with unexpected excess bills. I don't have dialup, but my father does and he uses dodo which seems to be fine for him.

I am with Mcpherson Media for a dial up connection. They are based in Shepparton Vic.
I pay $20 per month for unlimited use.
I would love more info on how to save with dodo.
please PM me or e-mail me at... aussiemadesox@yahoo.com.au
you can add me to your list of 8 if it is cheaper.

Telstra are just great!! they bend you over and slug you any which way but loose!!!
I have caught them out overcharging so many times it is not funny.
I got 2 refund cheques from them for overcharging in an 8 month period.
first was about $1000, and second was for about $700.
They just seem to have no idea what a cap plan is.
Also numerous credits over the past 2 years.

Unfortunatly where I live, Telsta has best cover for mobiles.

Tips for getting what you want from telstra.....

1)When you are getting no help tell them,"I am going to disconect and go to another carrier"
They are obligated under Telsta guidlines to transfer the call to "customer resolutions team"(CRT).
CRT's main job is to resolve the problem and keep you as a customer.
You will never ever hear of the CRT unles you say the words,"I am going to disconect and go to another carrier"!!!
They keep the team a great big secret. But trust me they will give you more help then anyone else at Telsta.

2)When you talk to them be sure to ask the operators ID number.
They must tell you if you ask. This helps to track down who you spoke to B4.

3)Climb the ladder...ask for a Supervisor if you feel the operator is mucking you about in any way.
They must give you a Supervisor if you ask for one.

2 & 3 both carry disiplinry action if they do not do it and you make a complaint.

4)Never give up!!! They are theives and crooks and should be treated as such!!

Hope this helps.

good evening my fellow aussies i use a dialup connection and i was just wondering who else uses dialup and if you dont mind me asking how much does it set you back

i just got away from telstra my wife thought she would be clever blink.gif and choose the cheapest dialup they had (with 50mb) after 2 months access they send her a four hundred dollar bill so i really think that was excessive and got out of there any one had that happen before peace.gif
i must agree the last 2 weeks or so busted my e-gold they have all been scammers lately furious.gif

I have just come over from the EZ thread as FTW put a link in there for us Aussies, so nice to
meet some of you that I haven't before.

I use dial up as I live in a rural residential area in Qld, and broadband is not accessable for us here.

I use Supernerd which are from Vic. It costs me $42 for 3 months and they give me another
month for free, so its really $42 for 4 months. This is for unlimited downloads, with 4 hour sessions
but I have at times gone over the 4 hours upto nearly 5 hours so it could depend on how many
are using it at the time. Very rarely do I ever get disconnected, in all I am very happy with them.
I was using telstra quite a few years ago, and there really isn't any difference with dial up except
they wanted to charge me like a wounded bull for it, no way thanks. Also another ISP that I keep
as a backup if Supernerd are having any problems is TPG, where it costs me $22 for 22 hours,
but it is just as a backup and I rarely ever use them. Also with Supernerd, they give you a $5
bonus for anyone who joins up from you, but doesn't sound as good as Dodo, that sounds pretty
good, if you get 8 people to join, so that you never have to pay for your internet again.

Anyway off to do some surfing.

I hope you all have a very nice day

Jane
