Just thought I would drop by and say hi..
![]() Enjoy your weekend.. Dorky
Hey there everyone,
Great post Dorky, Cheryl, and Cake...... I find it hard to come into the thread sometimes as it was started by Pete and that leaves a very bad taste in my mouth about -$4,000 seed money (profit from other investments but still!) and about -$4,000 in profit from BTD, very bad taste....... I have put it down to a very good life lesson and moved on and Cheryl my Insurance company (Work Cover injury) has agreed to pay for me to do a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) so i'm very excited........ After that i plan on doing The Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and then i will do a real course, Master of Taxation. Well that is enough about me. I hope all of you Aussies and your family's are keeping well and this one is for you Dorky.......... ![]() GP
Great to see you alive and kickin Global..
Your pic sure does bring back memories though.. they were fun times.. but the starter of this thread soured many of those memories. I still can't believe it.. but as you say.. you live and learn. So the old shoulder is never going to be what it was.. probably a blessing in disguise with your new outlook on life.. and the insurance company will be making a good investment paying for a young dedicated fellow like yourself. You will have to work hard, but then again, I know you do Global.. when you do something you are very diligent and work hard to get it right. It is a shame that information about investments wasn't given to me about 30 years ago.. LOL Hang on, you couldn't even talk then let alone type.. All the best in your endeavours.. but don't forget us here.. I know I often wonder what you are up too.. .... As for my other Aussie friends, I wish they would come here from time to time.. I came on Australia Day, and no one else even dropped by... Just because the thread starter isn't around here any more... "well that we know of" we can all still enjoy the thread and say hi to occassional international visitor that drops in... Where are all the good stories.. I really miss that... Cheryl? Catch you guys later.. Dorky Great to see you alive and kickin Global.. Catch you guys later.. Dorky Hi Global and Dorky, It was a nice surprise to check in here, and find new posts. Global, glad to see your plans for your studies, - good luck, that sort of financial stuff usually makes very little sense to me but I am sure you will do extremely well. Keep us informed how you are going with it. I have applied for a new job, as some of you know, at the moment i am stacking shelves in a supermarket at night.....LOL, not what I have been used to in the past, but it is convenient while I look around for something more 'substantial'. I am in the process now of applying for another job, please all keep your fingers crossed for me, because it is difficult to get into. I have passed the 15 minute phone interview, the typing test, and now on Friday i have an assessment day....goodness knows what that involves, but there are psychological/personality tests, spelling tests, individual and group activities...basically they are assessing our personality and characteristics to see if they think we can cope with the emotional stresses of the position. If I am successful at the assessment day, then I have to face an interview panel (an hour and a half!), and if successful, then have to pass a vision and hearing test.....PHEW, a long arduous process but worth it if I get in. My two little kids (7 and 9), are doing fantastic at their swimming, they now train 3 nights a week for an hour and a half each, and are both really talented. My daughter (7) in particular is a fish, I am told the way she swims just can't be taught, she is a natural, and is apparently a 'champion' in the making. She has already broken records for her age group, and when she swims, honestly, she just glides through the water, it is beautiful to watch. My son is a great swimmer too, we try not to let him be in her shadow, because his sister seems to outdo him in most things. So, he now has his Scouts, - such a fantastic organization for young boys, and he just loves that. Okay, enough rambling, time to get the kids organized for school, visit to the optometrist, and get some new clothes in the hope of an interview in a week or two!!!! Catch up to you soon Dorky, and take care everyone. Cheryl
Hi Cheryl.. I am dying to find out how you went on Friday.. fingers crossed it worked out..
Look forwared to :running: into you again too Dorky Hi Cheryl.. I am dying to find out how you went on Friday.. fingers crossed it worked out.. Look forwared to :running: into you again too Dorky Yes Cheryl, i hope you did well as it sounds like it's something that you would like to do. One thing is for sure, if you get the job you will deserve it after going through such a thorough process. I hope your kids go well with there swimming, my eldest brother was a member of the Australian Swim Team at the Sydney Olympics as a Masseur so i have a bit of an interest in swimming. How you going Dorky, well i hope. GP This post was determined to be SPAMMISH and has been edited by MMG Staff.

GP PS: Sorry to all of my fellow Aussie's for my outburst but it is my pet hate! What a marathon that was. I got the phone call today, and now have an interview next Wednesday morning. That is the final step in the process, other than if I am successful I have to have both an eyesight and hearing test. The interview is a behavioural one, so if I get nervous and my mind goes blank, lol, I blow it. Off I go now to research 'behavioural interviews' and start brushing up on my answers!! Cheryl Just had to add this little tidbit....LOL, miss 7 had to find Australian words for every letter of the alphabet,....and what did she think of for 'D'?......DIGITALDOO.....how funny is that? As to your miss 7, lol, these are the children of digithis and digithat -times, so that was a very obvious insight! Good luck! Raija
OMG Raija where have you been???? So nice to see you here again - I was only thinking of you the other day, as I have finally downloaded Google earth, and was going to take a look at Finland, only didn't know where to start....lol.
The job is working for the Police as an 000 operator. In Australia that is our emergency call number. It truly is a wonderful job, pays HEAPS, lots of scope for promotions and learning various jobs. They are very particular who they take though, as you can imagine some of the calls can be extremely traumatic. Hopefully my years of nursing will go in my favour. So how are you? How's life, the family, tell me all your news!!!!! Got to go now, it is 6.15am, and I have just arrived home for work, it is my bed time. It's nice to snuggle up with a feather doona and an electric blanket on these cold days. So, goodnight, and hope to hear from you very soon. Cheryl OMG Raija where have you been???? Cheryl Cheryl, hi, Been here but not much on the forum though checking this particular thread from time to time to see what is going on, if anything. I´ve signed myself out of these online businesses and don´t have very much interest hanging here - except for hearing your news. I, too, have been working on a new job from the beginning of April and it has kept me busy since. It´s a three year project with the same organisation I've been working for from last Summer. It´s hard for me to explain with my lacking English on this particular subject but it involves these people who are taking care of their incapacitated family members, either elderly couples or a family member taking care of their disabled child. The project is just in it's infancy so time will tell how it will look like in future, but at the moment this job seems like 'Made in Heaven' for me and I'm a happy camper. I also doubled my salary so that was not a bad thing either. I hope you too will get your new job. I'm sure your nursing career is a great asset for that job because sometimes you might get in a situation where you have give advice to the person calling. Sure it might be quite a stressing position, but on the other hand it might be very rewarding, too. Best of luck to you and let us know how it went. Also regards to all other Aussies and Cake and everyone.... Raija
Hi Raija
It is good to see you again. Just because you don't have much interest in this market these days certainly shouldn't stop you from coming here. There are many good people here and actually MMG is like home to me. I miss the days on this thread with all the stories of things that happen and have happened in the past.. I still remember the story about Cheryl getting in the wrong car LOL Cheryl I keep missing you all the time.. your new job sounds challenging, but yes rewarding. I know the feeling... and so do many others, as that in a way is how life is. Do drop by sometime... lol I also bought some aftershave.. Dorky Hi Raija It is good to see you again. You are the rock of this thread with Cheryl alongside. I know there are good people in here and you and Cheryl are one of them. But too many so called friends have turned their dirty side during these past few years and that has left a bad taste in mouth. On the Internet it's very hard to tell real trustworthy person from a con. There are so many sweet talkers and when not communicating face to face you can never be sure. I think it's best to keep away from 'friend´s' businesses to save your friendship. But this doesn't mean that all failed businesses were scams, no. I know honest people tried to do honest business but failed and got a scammer stigma without real reason. And now they are gone from here, maybe lurking here under another username but not brave enough to reveal their former personalities. But times change and people's lives and situations change. Nothing stays the same and that has to be accepted. Good to have you here though. Without you I wouldn't bother myself in here. life goes on... Hi Raija It is good to see you again. Dorky I will catch you online at some stage Dorky, I'm usually on late at night, or early after finishing work (like now, it's 6.15am). Like you Dorky, I miss all the stories, and fun and banter from this thread, but usually I don't post because I think no-one is going to read it anyway. So, from now on, I will post, and hope you and Raija and others pop in to read it, and also post yourselves. I get to have a few hours sleep today, then we are off to Warrnambool (on the coast), the kids have swimming competitions late this afternoon. Some good news, it has been raining consistently for the past 24 hours, more rain than I have seen in a long time. Lets hope it continues!! Wow, Dorky, you bought some aftershave, Raija, good luck with your new job, sounds good, not unlike something I used to do years ago. I hope it all comes to fruition for you. It is quite obvious you have both the mixture of kindness and compassion combined with good sense, just what is needed for that type of work. Take care all of you, Cheryl. Well good morning.. all the earlybirds in here today..
Another reasonably hot sunny day here today Cheryl.. Rain.. nothing on the horizon. But enjoying each day anyway. I will be thinking of you at the swimming pool watching your kids compete, you never know one day you might be one of those mothers jumping in the stands either at Commonwealth or Olympic Games So much for my soapboxing Off to do some cleaning up.. after I visit a few other places around here. Catch you all later Dorky PS Cheryl one day I will catch you on Messenger LOL one day...
Well we're back from Warrnambool, and had a ball at the swimming events. I agree wholeheartedly with you Dorky. One of the reasons I love this swimming club so much is the encouragement they give all the kids, regardless of their ability. They have encouragement and participation awards for the ones who don't win anything, so no one misses out. Between my two, they got 2 seconds, 4 thirds and one encouragement award. And gee, did they enjoy it, it is such a healthy and wonderful sport. And something I am really proud of is the way each of my children are happy for the other, regardless of how they do, or what they won themselves.
It was a 4 hour round trip, and I am so very tired. I am off to bed shortly, after a hot cuppa. Goodnight
Hey Cheryl have you gone for the next interview yet?
Amazing people that man the 000 lines, cool under pressure and many times life savers! How is the weather up there Dorky, have you been getting any rain to settle the dust ? I'm very excited as i start my Diploma of Fianancial Services this month and i have also just spent $4,000 on an options course which you can see on my Brand New Website which is full of sites which either have educational courses on Wealth Creation (Which i have done personally) or there is a site which has 6 different share strategies and you now have the unique opportunity to copy the exact trades that they place on there accounts. At the exact same time they do them, automatically! (I am a member there and do one of there strategies in my Self Managed Super fund) Very cool if you want to get into the market but don't know where to start! Can you guys and gals please have a look at my site and give me some feed back, i plan on setting it up to be more personal once i have finished my two Diploma's and am a Qualified Financial Adviser. My saying of the day: "You can make money OR You can make excuses BUT You can NOT make both!" GP Hey Cheryl have you gone for the next interview yet? My saying of the day: "You can make money OR You can make excuses BUT You can NOT make both!" GP Hey GP, life sounds pretty good for you right now, and you sound so motivated!! I am glad it is all working out for you, obviously you put a lot of time and effort into it. Yes, I had the interview last week, probably about the hardest thing i have ever done. Three men, sitting across the table, firing questions at me for 50 minutes. Had it been a 'normal' interview I would have done well. However, it was one of these 'behavioural interviews'...ie, how you acted in the past is a good predictor as to how you will act in the future. pft!!! If you ask me its rubbish. So many people I know, educated people, and uni graduates have had these interviews, and rarely tell the truth. Anyway I got asked questions like......Give an example of structure in your workplace, what it involves, what is the outcome, and how you manage it. OR Give an example how you reacted when a superior gave you negative feedback in the workplace.....how you felt, how you responded and what was the outcome?......50 minutes of these questions.......What the?? I didn't get a chance to say things like, I have nursed for 20 years, how i cope with traumatic situations, how i cope under pressure etc etc etc. I put hours into my preparation addressing all their criteria and inherent qualities they require in their employees and not any of that came up. So, I imagine I did very badly, and needless to say I have not heard from them. They said we would know by the end of this week, but I know they haven't been in touch with my references so I think I can safely say I have not got the job. I am extremely disappointed and upset about it, so much of my time and effort went into it, and I know that I would be so good at something like that. But, time to move on. We had actually decided that if I wasn't successful, we would seriously consider moving to Warrnambool, it's just such a beautiful place, so Daryl (husband) has been looking into work there. We are both nurses, so employment won't be a problem at all. So, in a nutshell, I will return to nursing, and we will uproot ourselves for a seachange in a beautiful country town right on the Great Ocean Road. Okay, lol, I've had my rant now, hehe, true to my nature, I feel like ringing HR and telling them where they are going wrong with their interview technique. Hey Dorky, wherever you are, how are you? And whats happened to izero, he hasn't been around for a while. C'mon Aussies, show yourselves........
Gee Cheryl,
I am so disappointed that you didn't get the job. You know some of these interviewers have really lost touch with the real people of the world.. People like yourself which have plenty to offer and to you it wouldn't be "just a job".. your heart and soul would be there as well. Be positive Cheryl, it is their loss and your gain. One door closes and another one opens. Sea change hey.. sounds good. Great Ocean Road, even better.. I have seen those rock things on TV, it looks impressive.. and hey, you get to see the whales for free.. I haven't seen izero either.. probably off doing his gymnastics somewhere... maybe he is training for the Olympics? You never know. I have no interesting news of late. I have been rather quiet due to constant cat napping.. Today I spent most of the day sleeping. But Global it is raining Must get back to catching up on my reading before I fall asleep again. Dorky
Hi Cheryl, it's good to see your kids enjoying their sport. It's a pity about the interview but maybe it was a blessing in disguise. And yes I am still here but I've just been lurking because I'm flat out with work, uni and err...social activities
Hey GP you know what's funny? That Jamie McIntyre bloke is launching some options software this week and guess who is in charge of software development and who built the website? I just hope Konst (the programmer) has made the final touches by the launch date. Also writing covered calls in this current market is bringing in some really high yields at the moment so I'd write a few of those if you got some shares. Good luck with your RG146, should be a breeze. As Dorky said it has been pretty wet of the past few days on central and south eastern QLD, the dog I'm walking for an elderly lady is probably getting a little anxious but if the weather holds I'll go this afternoon. And as for me some rather crushing news, I've sprained both my ankles again so I'm giving up tumbling (probably for good) but I'm going to do double mini at the next competition before I stop altogether (go out in a blaze of glory). I've got no idea what I'm going to do now; I want to get/stay fit but I find the idea of gym, running and repetitive exercise so boring after all this. I guess I can use the extra time in the short term to study for finals but after that I'm open to suggestions. Anyways, back to (pretending to) study. Take it easy everyone. Great to hear from you iZero.. shame about those ankles though. You have plenty of sporting activities available to you in this country, so I guess it is just wondering which one interests you. It has been rain here since Wednesday... not good rain, just nuisance stuff.. I haven't seen the sun for days either.. It is the cold wind that comes with it that is the chill factor.. but some rain running into the tanks, so thats a plus. So just another wet, cold Sunday afternoon for me.. looking for a cup of coffee.. to keep warm.. would be nice to put a drop of rum into it, but I rarely drink anymore, plus I don't have any.. the other thing is I am currently on antibiotics.. LOL Can't take a trick these days. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.. Dorky
Just logging in for the first time in 10 weeks!
I've caught up on all my reading in this thread and would like to say a big Hi to Dorky, Cheryl, Raija, izero and GP. It's great to hear all your news, although injured ankles do not sound so good, izero, and wow..what an ordeal you went through, Cheryl, just trying to get a job! I look forward to the next news.
Hi Cake
Wow has it been 10 weeks.. do you count .... Thanks for dropping by, but what have you been doing.. anything exciting? Holidays? You are coming into your summer, so are you looking forward to summer? He is Aussie, I am looking forward to summer.. as I don't like the cold.. not that we have had much of that yet.. LOL Well I live in the tropics but the weather gets cold for me.. but for people like Cheryl and GP they woulld probably think it is summer for them if they came up this way. All to do with what you get climatized too. Hope to see you again.. on your next visit.. and don't make it ten weeks.. the year will be over before we know it.. Dorky
hello aussie, we loved you very much. melbourne here
Gee, I haven't been here in a while, just been catching up on a few posts.
Glad to see you back again Cake and iZero. I'm truly sorry about your ankles it must be just so disappointing for you. Well as we all know, the Olympic games aren't too far away. Some of you may remember I have mentioned Jared Tallent before?! My husband coached him from a little boy up until he went to the AIS. He is a racewalker, and is in the Olympic games this year, along with his fiance Claire. He is up there with the best of them, and is such a nice young man. In fact, we are going to his wedding 4 days after the Olympics finish, so it is a very big year for him. So please, even if you don't like racewalking, keep an eye out for Jared and Claire in the Olympics and cheer them on, if for no other reason than they are aussies, and a credit to the younger generation. Jared is walking the 20KM and the 50KM and Claire is in the 20KM. Cheryl Gee, I haven't been here in a while, just been catching up on a few posts. Glad to see you back again Cake and iZero. Every four years I wonder if I will be around to see the next one. But looks like I will be watching the 2008 Olympics.. I am saving for a new TV, as my old one is very tempremental.. I bang here or there sometmes works but others not. I have a few weeks left so I hope they are on special. Would be great to see some more Aussies drop by... I know there are plenty around, but with all the goings on I guess we get lost in the threads! See ya round. Dorky
Hi guys, just dropping in before bed. My week has been crazy with study and three exams but I've only got one more to go before a four week holiday (can tell you now that I can't come soon enough). I'll definitely keep an eye out for the two Olympians and it seems the girl I am working with is friends with a few of the gymnasts (she was an elite but was sick for four months so she gave it up). When you think about it, we've got top-level athletes coming out our ears and yet we're officially fatter than America which is more than a little disappointing if you ask me.
I haven't been here for weeks... on MMG that is.. I have decided to come back and check out my Aussie friends.. seems everyone is missing these days.. where have you all gone??
I guess your holidays will be over soon enough now iZero... AussieFox... I haven't seen you in ages either.. probably school holidays is it? Well I guess I will do some wandering around and catch up on some reading.. hopefully I might find something to get excited about.. LOL Enjoy yourselfs in whatever you are doing, but I read this somewhere and it tickled my fancy.. so I will post it here for you guys to read. QUOTE A self-important University student attending a recent football game took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen sitting next to him why it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation. 'You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one', the student said, loud enough for many of those nearby to hear. 'The young people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the moon Our space probes have visited Mars. We have nuclear energy, ships and electric and hydrogen cars, cell phones , computers with light-speed processing...and more.' After a brief silence, the senior citizen responded as follows: 'You're right, son. We didn't have those things when we were young........so we invented them.’ Now, you arrogant little gnit, what are you doing for the next generation?' The applause was amazing....... Dorky
I'm guilty as well Dorky, haven't been around for a couple of months, this thing called life keeps getting in the way......
Between study, Forex and my wife and three great kids i just don't seem to have any time on my hand these days, i have to fit sleep in there every now and then as well! Well i hope you are all well and having lots of fun and i will try and pop in more often. Mark
Hello, is there anybody in here?
Where have all my Aussie mates gone to! Come on guys and gals, fair enough almost all of us have woken up and stopped wasting our money on Hyips and the millions of scams that are floating around in here but we can still keep our Aussie thread alive. Cheryl, how about those Bombers, i love it when we beat Collingwood...... Oh well i hope to talk to you all soon. Mark
Oh hi GP, back at uni tonight after holidays. Unfortunately I didn't get much done (other than say I'm not going out until I get a six pack). How's the FX coming along? I put a trade on today and it hit S/L because I didn't realise that on short positions the spread is added to the price. But you live and learn (more learning at the moment it seems).
Oh and I reassessed my promise that I wouldn't do gymnastics again. Short version: To hell with the promise
Hi all, just a mighty quick message to let you know that I have been offline for many weeks (well it feels like many weeks), due to a certain telecommunications company mucking up my internet connection. Will be back to post more soon.

I've always wanted a GPS that read in austrailian accent
I've always wanted a GPS that read in austrailian accent
I think that an Australian accented GPS would be good, but not an Australian GPS. It would say, "Go til you see that big tree, hook a left, somewhere you need to go right but if you hit a river your lost in which case you need to backtrack til you see the pub. At the pub say g'day to everyone, ask how to get to where you're going, have a couple rounds and forget what you were supposed to be doing."
Welcome girankore, I saw the link in your signature and it just so happens I've got one of Jamie McIntyre's books in front of me. It's not a bad book, it's fairly light on and general though - but then again it's for them to sign you up so you buy one of their education packages. Thanks for the reminder Cheryl, it's unfortunate about your TV but I almost thought you were going to say Murphy's Law struck again on another of our athletes. And yes, it is me but I'm hoping to get a better shot shortly. Speaking of competitions and things, we've got four kids competing in state levels in tumbling on Saturday but unfortunately I'm stuck at the club holding down the fort so I can't see them play. I'm sure they'll do well though, their passes have started to come together nicely. I hope I can compete in double mini at the end of the year - though it would be nice to get some training on one before then, it's been two years since I've been on one.
Hey Cheryl I didn't see the race (coaching at the time
Hey Cheryl I didn't see the race (coaching at the time Thanks so much for that, its been very exciting for us all here. Jared's rung a couple of times, and he's the talk of the town. He's very excited as you can imagine, but in true Jared style is taking the publicity etc all in his stride. He wasn't actually expecting to get a medal in the 20Km, it's the 50Km he excels in......here's hoping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dang it I missed it (again) but good on Jared for doing us proud. Who knows, I'm actually seriously considering to take up competitive weightlifting and meet up with these guys in London.
Must go now, come back and visit Aussies!

We are off to Adelaide on Friday, for Jared's wedding. What a media circus that is going to be. His parents phone hasn't stopped ringing all day, - the media wanting to know the ins and outs of everything. I have heard a whisper (lol) that New Idea have exclusive rights to cover the wedding. I just hope us people who are actually invited get a seat inside the church!! Thanks for taking an interest Dorky and iZero now you have to watch for New Idea.....
Where are you aussies?
Somebody here in another thread was wondering where all the old members have gone. It really is true that very few of the old members bother to write here anymore. One after another have vanished. I use to pop in now and then and read especially this thread to know how things are going in aussieland. I rarely bother to sign in anymore but just look if something has happened here. Funny that even though I tick the tag 'keep me signed in' I seem to come here as a guest. Anyway, the purpose of this post was to pump this thread up. It was way down the second page and required a little bit searching before I found it. Shoud bookmark it. Well, might as well fill you in what's going on in my life. Work, lousy rainy summer, cloudy september, hubby going to bypass next tuesday, me having flu and an awful caugh..... wanna know more? Hope you are doing well and enjoying your life. Have a wonderful weekend! Raija
Theres more
Raija, you have been missed. You mentioned bypass... is that surgery? I have been spending some time in those sterile places lately.. I am going to have electric shock treatment soon.. not really looking forward to it but the tablets don't seem to be working.. will let you all know how it went.. or didn't..mmm bit hard to post then. It is another lovely day here, the sun is shining and I am thinking positive thoughts.. my new way of getting on with things. Great to hear from you though.. take care Dorky
Sorry to hear that Dorky, I hope everything goes well for you.
Raija I hope your husband's surgery goes off without a hitch too. I've been flat out myself with uni, work, coaching, trampoline and I've also taken up Olympic lifting and the 5am starts (for a teenager no less!) to make things interesting. It's hard to believe it's almost been a year since destroyed my ankles and they're still not back to 100%. My first mid-semester exam (for Investment Analysis) was a bit of a downer, only 16/30 but I had my calculator confiscated so that didn't exactly help the situation but it happens. Work is a bit stressful too with the market the way it is. But on the other hand I'm fitter and stronger than I've ever been and despite the near-perpetual fatigue I'm doing okay. Today I managed to do a set of deadlifts with 70kgs - over 125% of my bodyweight after a full course of backsquating the equivalent of how much I weigh (then it was off to tumbling!). In between that I redesigned the banners for MMG because I thought their banners that looked like they were made in mspaint were a little out of place ![]() ![]() ![]() http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/3540/mmg160final3ca7.png That's for the most part of what I've been up to. Now it's time to stop procrastinating and try to do this assignment I've got due
Wow izero, the banners look great!! Great minds must think alike.. well truth be known I did some banner creating today.. I am only an amautre though. But if anyone cares to look my revampted shed blog they will see my handywork
I am not worried about the coming weeks!! Life goes on. Great to see you are still into the fitness.. Calculator confiscated mmm whatever were you doing to have that happen? Dorky
Glad to see you guys! And thanks for your wishes, I'll send them further to hubby!
Hubby was taken in today and the surgery happens tomorrow afternoon. The cardiologist had reassured him that he will be fine and this is the right procedure for him. Hard recovery though because of the opening of the thorax. iZero, if that's you in the picture, you seem to do fine with your legs! And great banners you have been creating! Btw, I think that someone has confiscated my calculator too! I've been looking for it for weeks and it has dissapeared totally! Dorky, do you go to have electric shocks because of irregular heartbeats or what? Anyway, I wish you best of luck and let us know how it went. Horrible thing happened today in a school here in Finland, when a lunatic shot 10 people and then himself. And this was the second time under a year similar thing to happen. This world has gone grazy! The guns are too easy to get. And think about this: the police had interrogated him on Monday about his YouTube videos and had NOT aborted his license! It's a sad, sad day in Finland .... --------------------------------------------- Where is Cheryl? CHERYL! C H E R Y Y Y L L!!! ... hooting Raija
Hi Raija,
Yes I saw the newsflash yesterday evening, my time, and I was taken aback with the story of the gunman. I also remember the event from last year. Such a waste of life and it must be terrible hard for others to comprehend how and why this happens in todays society. My best wishes and thoughts go to you and your countryman in these trying times. I wish your husband a successful operation and a speedy recovery with his surgery. By staying positive and focused I am sure he will recover well. Please pass on our best wishes. Me? Found out I do have a heart! Apparently it is very common this irregular heartbeat thing. Was a bit of a worry when I didn't know what was happening.. thought I was going to have a heart attack. My heart races at times, a weird feeling but getting used to it. Definately dosen't feel right but the doctors have assured me it is normal. In some people it can be controlled by tablets.. have been trying that but.. hasn't worked, so they are opting for the zap treatment. Not sure exactly what that involves but I am sure I will find out soon enough.. not sure when it will happen either.. but I just take each day as it comes and try not to worry about it. Everyday above the ground is a great day! When you get to my end of the stick I do realize there will be less sunrises to enjoy, so I intend to enjoy each one as they come. I have been wondering myself where Cheryl is.. I know she is around but probably can't remember how to find her way here.. lol I will have to send out a search party for her.. Dorky
Thanks Dorky and iZero for your wishes!
Hubby was operated on Wednesday and his recovery has started very well. I guess he will be released on Tuesday - Wednesday if nothing surprising happenes. He himself was positively surprised because he had prepared himself for an ordeal. Dorky - have you been taking your vitamins and Omega-3's? I have been having occasional arrhythmias as long as I can remember and last spring they began playing their game every day and sometimes several times during the day. They were not painful, rather annoying and unpleasant. I began taking Omega fatty acids, magnesium and zink and also b-vitamins and I can say that the palpitations have almost subsided. Not totally, but now I get them only when I'm very tired or stressed. I suggest you start taking at least magnesium and some good fish oil with omega-3 if you haven't already. They won't hurt you but they might at least alleviate them. Do try! Oh, and don't drink too much beer because alcohol is a trigger for irregular and racing heart beats. I know because when I was young I only got the irregularities after having alcohol. Now I rarely have any alcohol so my palpitations are mainly due to stress and fatigue (honestly). Anyway, I wish you all the best and hope you're heart is otherwise in condition. ... did Cheryl turn out to be a scammer after all - dissapearing like that, ha? Raija |
