I will jump right into this post and quickly tell you my best ways to get free traffic from facebook. How do you guys do it?

1. Join big groups in your niche and write on wall and discussion boards.

2. Post links on status with your new blog posts etc.

3. Create your own groups in your niche and use the members as a list.

4. Post videos of your opportunity and tag all your friends.

What do you guys do?

those are all good suggestions. facebook has become a great marketing tool. also try out facebook ads. they rock as well

facebook ad doesn't really work out to me. Sometimes it appears in unrelated page.
But to generate traffic I would like to join huge group like Mafia Wars and add more than 100 people a day...how's that sound? If you have team, it would be very easy to get 5,000 members shortly

Good suggestions. Forming a group is a good way to collect friends that you would otherwise not know. I have found facebook to be a blue ocean for networking and have used it to promote all of my businesses online and otherwise.

Another thought: Use the chat box often. Building relationships with people will almost always lead to trust and then to opportunity.

I have over 1000 members and like 2000 facebook friends, well not really friends. The problem sometimes is that not everyone sees your status posts etc. So if you post a link to your blog in your status then maybe a handful out of 2000 friends will see it. I like the ideas of the person who posted this topic. Anyways thanks for those ideas.

Those are good tips, thanks. Regarding point 3, how do you get members for your groups? Do you invite all your friends to join the groups? Is that not offensive to use the members as a list and send marketing emails or messages to them?

There are very practical suggestions.

I have had pretty good success by creating my own group. However i am careful not to send commercial type of mails to them, instead I keep the group updated with my latest blog posts.

This drives traffic & sometimes sales too !

Do you need to worry about security with Facebook I have heard of lots of stories about your ID being stolen?

Quick question, when you join a group, you don't see the updates unless you go to a group right? Why create a group instead of a page?

waoh great ideas from great minds, been thiinking on what to do all this while.

I can also add that all this must be done actively and enthusiastically. If you make one video or join one group, you are unlikely to see the results immediately. The work must be done methodically and consistently.

The good news is that those techniques do rather work, but the bad news is that not all niche makes good money out of the social network site. One of the niche that I see getting good attention from this sites are those sites that gives coupons and discounts on sales and/or services such as summer trips etc. other ads on facebook, people don't really care about them.

It's hard to sell on facebook as most of the visitors there are there to socialize and not to purchase anything. If they needed to buy something, they'd be at the mall or in Google canvassing prices - not facebook

you just simply create your profile add all the details and create a page for your business then join more communites with high fans, u will surly get visitors by writing in walls & discussion boards .

It works, but not just by automation. Taking time to join the groups, fill out your profile, write about whatever it is you want to write, etc.

These are all great tips, but I find including advertisement links in your status is also very effective.

I would better spend time for SEO and link building rather than to pomote my site in Facebook or twitter because these brings temporary traffic only.

I never get traffic off facebook, I think it is dying really

Also joining team ad co-ops. For those of newbie online marketers it is better for us to find a wonderful upline who can teach us the tricks of the trade, follow their lead and join their ad co-op programs.

Your networth and your income will depend on how many people listen to you. You can spend a lot of time writing interesting articles, posts or tweets.

There are some downsides to joining large-scale groups you know, since having more members call for faster updates of feeds. That being said, there's minimal chance of your post/advertisement being noticed by other members.

Best be if you're targeting Facebook Groups is to join, or even create, a niche specific group. That way you'll get better exposure with what you're trying to promote, be it a product or your own website.

One other thing I've noticed about these pages that people seem to do, at least every single one of them... is to be completely merciless when it comes to self-promotion... like self-promotion and a link EVERYWHERE I look that you almost click the link just out of sheer frustration to see what could POSSIBLY be there... lol

Intersting thoughts. It sounds like they really could generate some good traffic for your page. But there is always the question if that traffic realy is intersting for your specific website.

Facebook ads never did as well for me vs. Google ppc or content network. Facebook users seem to ignore the ads. I used highly targeted demographics too, including from a few large groups I had created so I could target the users in more detail.

This is the very best way to build relationships on FB. Chat, ask questions, and then Listen, Listen, Listen. Find out where your friend is in life and what motivates him/her and listen for concerns that you possibly have a solution for. Then ask if you can make a suggestion and because of your relationship building, they most likely are open to your suggestion.

I agree Dave Fb chat is a great way to build relationships! I use the Happy Birthday feature everyday just about to start recognizing others & then they soon start recognizing me as well, this FB feature is awesome, & is a real natural way at least for me to start chatting with others !

FACEBOOK TIPS:
Facebook Group: is the most powerful way to get traffic on it.But you have to KNOW WHO you are targeting, because some people don't trust about making money and some people want to make money. You have to know what kind of person you want to target.

Facebook Group: you can join lots lots of groups related to business or any kind of it. Try to join groups with less numbers because the admin of the group will see what you offer. Try to be friend with the admin of the group first and know him well what he/she like.

Facebook Group: If you ready joined with lots of FB groups use suithoots program, because is better to advertise with it. If you joined with groups has more than 2000 then try to search the right person who want your business. Search the person who have the similar to your business you have. Compare the business you have if he have the good business than u or not.

Facebook Group: Create new group and upload nice looking picture, i recommend to upload ur picture on the group picture wall and add your email and your skype name and ur real name and write the group name for example, ''Community Facebook Group'' and write what about the group that people interest.

Never, ever directly promote your services, product or website. Instead, create fun, interesting, valuable content on your blog and update your new blog or article on Facebook from time to time.

I know that Facebook is the best social networking site.I creat a Group,i post video everyday but i didn't get traffic from Facebook.I want to know more detail about it.

I prefer searching for groups that will have like-minded members interested in my opportunity and then posting and/or interacting there. The problem with creating your own groups/pages is you then have to get people to join them, which can take quite a while, so finding large, existing groups has worked better for me. I agree, FB advertising sucks - total waste of money.
