Hey everyone,

I'm sure there are varying levels of experience here when it comes to trading. Some of us have been trading for years, while others are just starting out, I'd like to get everyone's take on how long they have been trading & how they think experience helps traders(if at all).

So here's the question, how long have you been trading Forex & what role do you think experience plays in trading?

Thanks in advance for your response!

Experience is worth TONS...
I say to everyone, start trading as SOON as possible. Throw 5 bucks into Oanda and start trading dimes.
Demo trading does not deal with greed and fear.

find a few good systems and work on money management.

Experience is ALL that matters in trading....

Now some may think this is not the case; what about systems? what about strategies? what about automated trading? etc.

The fact is you can give 2 traders the same great strategy, and the newbie will most likely blow his account while the 2nd more experienced trader turns a profit. Why? EXPERIENCE.

I myself have been trading for near 9 years and am still honing my skill on each and every trade I take.

I have to agree with you. Strategies & automated trading can surely help, but there is absolutely no substitute for experience. The Forex market is constantly fluctuating & individual experience is the only answer to long term trading success.

I absolutely agree with you, you have to have the right mentality and attitude to be successful, ups & downs can't affect you emotionally.
