JoseM
My account U0845999 (Jose M) has been limited since MAY 17, 2009!

Every time I try to login, I get: Your account is temporarily limited. Please contact our support department for details.

I have tried re-setting my password - this does nothing.

Over the months I have opened countless amount of support tickets.

The only response I got was:

QUOTE
Dear Jose,

Please provide us further information about your request.

Let us know if we may assist you further.

Sincerely,
Sandro.

I responded with more information, and received nothing in reply. There is no doubt they have my countless e-mails but have chosen not to reply.

The latest reply was on July 3rd.. All I got was:

QUOTE
Dear Jose,

We will contact you with further information.

Sincerely,
Sandro.

Keep your account secure by following these simple rules:
Do NOT click on any links!
We will always address you by your first name.
We will never send you attached files or ask you to update your login information.
Contact us if you are unsure about an email you received.

No further responses.

The account has a little over $9,000 in it, which I got from a legitimate exchange. The account was only funded and not used for anything else. It was limited only after I complained about the security of my API after some funds were stolen due to their failed API system which fails to adequately protect some users who enable it.

I was then instructed to contact Eric at: business@libertyreserve.cr

I did so. Here are the contents of our conversations:

Dear Sir,

We are sorry to hear about your loss. Please note that our API interface
is very secure and is being monitored round the clock for integrity and
performance. Our API and SCI interfaces are kept up to date and scanned
by various third party service providers continuously which, as result,
makes us comply with the same stringent security standards as credit
card industry uses. Now, all matters of any type of unauthorized access
to a client's account are taken very seriously. Since you imply that
there was an unauthorized access to your API interface or your account,
we now have to make sure that funds are released to the rightful owner.
You have associated both accounts by yourself. Please send us (to
(business@libertyreserve.cr) a color scan of your passport, any
bank/credit cards statement and a utility bill that reflects the
information listed on your account - and your account will be
immediately released. Customer's safety is our primary concern.

Regards,
Eric Paltz.

Several things about that e-mail are quite hilarious. Nevertheless, I obliged and provided them with legitimate colour ID (passport, bank slips, etc).

His response:

We have transferred received documents to our legal department to see if
they meet their requirements criteria. We anticipate them to provide us
with the answer tomorrow.

Regards,
Eric Paltz.

Communication at this point ceased despite my best efforts.

A list of my support tickets - and no - they weren't all done at once:

[#IEQ-835341]: limited
[#ZSL-161603]: LIMITED ACCOUNT
[#ACW-518276]: LIMITED ACCOUNT
[#QVT-349887]: account limited

I tried my luck with online support, but it's like talking to a Robot. Every person I spoke to gave almost identical replies.

They're either stupid or they just want to drag it on without having to fix the problem.

libertyreserve.cr is an intriguing domain. Cr is of course a Costa Rican domain and they are supposedly in costa rica. There's no website there but clearly they respond and use libertyreserve.com's server to send out e-mails according to the above headers.

The whois info for libertyreserve.cr is:

Slight differences in address, of course.

I gave them the chance to fix this and instead they would rather remain ignorant. Now I'd like to ask anyone who is in a similar situation where Liberty Reserve has stolen funds or at least provided inadequate support, if you'd like to talk, perhaps we can come up with something.

This is no longer about the $10,000 - but instead the fact that I cannot trust them to put any more money in my account.

Some will say I'm lying or trying to cause havoc or I'm paid or a troll or my first post is about LR so I must be the devil. Bull****, and I don't really care what you say. Judging by their blog, the only way to hit them where it hurts is with their public relations. If I'm going to donate $10k to them, I want to get my money's worth wink.gif I want to issue a press release stating my intention to claim damages and will do so through the appropriate channels. Perhaps they will enjoy handing over more money than I originally had in the account and pay my legal fees.

I'm also interested.. has anyone gone to the Costa Rican government to ask about their registration number or tax file status listed on the website? And the DNS Made Easy address?

They are not too big to be selective scammers.. and I believe this to be a classic case, until I'm proven otherwise.
goodserver
I don't think LR will scam only one client with no more than $10k. this case is so weird.
xubeck
Indeed weird, I've used LR for a while and am very happy with their service.

hmm i've been hearing alot of good things on LR but from what i have read i am having 2nd thoughts now

I agree with you. We cant let people take our money. What can we do to stop this? Any other option beside LR? We already have so many fake investment companies online making money and not e-currencies too doing that. All readers please share your ideas and lets fight for our rights. It can happen to you tomorrow just like what happen to me and Jose.

Dear Moneygeneral2,
I will recommend you to write an email to Liberty Reserve Customer Support which have several departments as general questions, passwords, funding, business, abuse as you might see in their website. I am pretty sure that they will help you with your concerns. Also, you can reset your account for changing the pin and login again. Or you can also block in anycase you feel unsafe or you think someone else steals your info. I hope this help you. Remember always the best way is to write them, LR is the only one who can help you. My suggestion is not to send too much emails you can be a spammer! even here it happens!

THANKS I have tried everything, and everybody and every department at L R compliance , support, business live support etc etc no answers and e mails were delivered because I did not receive a notice of non delivery
Deposits have been made to my account, acknowledged by depositors with batch numbers, but not acknowledged by LR
I have opened up a 2 nd account at L R and requested a money transfer from my old account to my new account, and again received no answers
I have headed my requests that this is NOT a scammer inquiring, but again no reply, I have had a computer expert in safety review my protection programs and he agrees that I have very good protection
So they have my money in my account that I cannot log into.

LR management forum readers, PM me so we can get this cleared up. now.

Money processor users stay tuned. I will keep all informedincluding other bblogs and forums

Dear Moneygeneral2,

Your issue is really an unfortunate event. I know how do you feel having your money stucked in the LR. And i would say that it is very fedup with the support team of LR.

Do not give up, and keep contacting them via email and as well, do not limit yourself to contact only one online support, maybe there is somebody who is really willing to help you. My advice is that, be persistent, knock until they open the door.

Please be informed it is now Oct 7 th 6 pm and I have still not heard back from liberty reserve.

You would think an legit business would want to continue with a customer that keeps paying fees for transactions with his own money.Sounds like a no brainer to me.

Hellooooooo LR where are you?

zoundmute
I haven't had any bad experiences with LR yet. But, have to agree that their customer support is pathetic and LR is the most UNSECURED pay processor out there.

I would advise you, not to keep much funds in LR. Transfer them to other processors or bank a/c ASAP.

This seems like a phishing attack to me. May be someone has gained access to some of your personal details earlier through a phishing scam like this:

Fake LR site: http://www.liblertyreserve.com/

Read here and see, how some HYIPs use this phishing site to scam people:

http://www.investtitles.info/page/program/...kingdom-inv.com

May be LibertyReserve doesn't know about these scams yet. I doubt it you still have that $9000 in your LR account.

Play safe with these HYIPs. These thieves have employed this new tactic to scam people now.
