How is the South African market viewed in terms of sea front investment property such as Cape Town, Kleinbaai?

Returns have traditionally been good and the latest elections were peaceful. Will international investor want to invest in the Cape Town area of South Africa?

Well, South-Africa is a beautiful country, the climate is perfect, English widespread so it could be a great place to invest for foreigners.

But, I think there's still some way to go, I visited Cape Town and other parts of South-Africa and it scares people off when seeing how the 'better houses' need protection against possible thiefs and criminals. I just don't like living in a house with an enormous fence around it... Maybe this will change in the future?

I think it depends heavily on the stability of Africa as a continent, not just South Africa as a nation. Warring and corrupt nations in Africa have historically had very negative effects on their neighbors, although South Africa is a beautiful, very modern nation, I would be careful of the effects being surrounded by unstable countries(many run by warlords) can have before investing.
