Dorky was so kind , so helpful for everyone here in MMG ... Sad to die Pierre
The world is missing a most humble and generous man, a man who would always help others. I'm just so very saddened and shocked to learn of his passing.
It is my belief that all the good he did on this plane, is now being returned to him 1000-fold, and well deserved indeed. Dorky was certainly a very genuine and unique person. He claimed to be normal but always stood out as special imo. I talked with him once about left brain / right brain music and he loved the concept.

I couldn't believe i'm reading all this here! I thought when i join another program i will hear some great and funny comments from dorky again. Gives you a feeling that we are all in good company... He was so good at it...

Sad moment for entire forum. Many members were very close to him. I didn't know him personally but I've read his blog in past - http://dorkysshed.blogspot.com/ . Last update there: TUESDAY, 3 MARCH 2009.

I'm so sad to hear of Dorky's passing. He was such a kind spirit, and has touched so many of us in some way or another.
Earth's loss is Heaven's gain. They have one of the best now. 
Wow I am really impressed to see so many people express their feeling towards an MMG member like this. Looks like Dorky made the best of his time here by being a person people could easily like. My thoughts are with family and friends.

Very sad news to see the loss of such a great Aussie Battler, shared many a virtual beer with my great old mate Dorky as we started here at MMG almost at the same time and spent a fair bit of time talking about life in general over the last couple of years and i will miss that a lot.
One more Beer for a person that we all should strive to be more like, a champion human who would do anything for anyone.  GP

I just read through this entire thread and am overwhelmed by the impact this human being had on others.
I never pm'd or talked with Dorky - but I signed up under him with PAC because of what he was doing with his referrals... I received his posts from the Shed, and enjoyed his posts on MMG. I had received an email from him - out of the blue - back on January 19, 2009. For whatever reason, I had kept that email he sent. p/s, it is a good thing to continue his will to help charity, hope to see we can continue his will in some way. every time I open this thread I get tears in my eyes.I want to know more info on charity thing that dorky was helping. I should have been dead years ago, but now I feel that I am either being punished, or there are things I need to finish first. I really don't know. that is the hard part. I will deliver - I always have, maybe it won't be me personally, but at least I have set the wheels in motion. I just hope I haven't put too much on Cath. I can see she is under great stress with me and Trev at the moment. I really wish for her life to be better. I have just then realized that I draw my inspiration from her. She always sees the positive in things - well she does have down times, but a new day comes and she dosen't look back, she just steps up to the next challenge....... or does she? mmm May we all appreciate the good he has done here on earth and strive to do much more with our own lives. I am very sad hearing this news, I was his referral in PAC and he was supporting me in many ways. I will miss that man for real

I'm also shocked to read the tragic news about Dorky... I have read this thread in tears, already missing his kind and cheerful posts. I only knew him through his posts in MMG for a few months since I joined and I have also been reading his shed and blog, which reflect very well what a nice and caring person he was. This is what he wrote in his diary on 27th February:
"I admit, I am a dreamer.. there really is no life without dreams. My dreams are big, possibly unobtainable, but at least I have them and strive towards that goal. I was considering changing my goals, but if I keep aiming high I might get at least someway toward realizing them." And another one dated 3 December 2008: "While I get the chance I just want to thank all my friends for watching out for me over the years. I fully respect and admire you. I met some of the most wonderful people out here. Without technology our paths would never have crossed, and I would have left this earth probably deeply sadened. But I have a totally different vision of things.. all the nationalities and customs. I am so gratefull to have met you all." Rest in peace, dear Dorky.
We really lost a good and creative friend. Hope you in peace and God bless you Droky.

I'm having a terribly hard time finding any closure with the loss of Dorky. I must come to this thread ..oh I don't know how many times a day. I think we should have a Memorial ..I hate to use the word "party" , it just doesn't seem appropriate, and service is just not what he'd go for, but I think Dorky would have enjoyed a good family "get together". He'd have hated being the center of it, but this one last time, Dorky, let us do it for you... and us? Since he can't be here to give his approval, would anyone else like to meet here this evening and hang out in Dorky's remembrance? I have the heart filled with pain. In the last months I've had the honnor of having few discussions on gmail with Dorky. I still can believe that on messenger Dorky will be forever off-mine. May God rest his soul.
Dorky a person who cared about so many, touched the lives of those he came in contact with, brightened our days and entertained us with his great posts.
I always looked forward to receiving emails or pms from Dorky. He had a talent for writing and also for making his friends feel cared for and special. He was gracious and eloquent and the kindness and generosity he showed in every aspect of his life was truly an inspiration to us all. Dorky in ways big and small you changed the world, left it a better place and touched to many hearts to ever be forgotten. We will all miss you so much  Rest in peace dear friend.
