Hi fellow MMGers -

I'm very interested in identifying what the next big thing is for social communities on the internet. I believe that by identifying this trend in its emergence will create tremendous opportunities for business.

Some ideas are:
* 3D Environments - Gaming style
* Floating Forums - Brought together when viewing same web site
* Streaming video forums - Live video chat with forum members

So what do you think?

personally i am not all that excited about any of the options up there.

i find it hard enough to find decent forums and communities to talk about online money making opportunities, that
i think maybe a search engine that was dedicated to it might make it easy.

then again, with all the spam and other garbage that it would attract, i think i am back to zero again.

i do actually agree with you , i think that 3 dimentional enviroments are the next big step on social networking, but its going to be hard getting to this point because some computers now on days dont have the memory capabilities or the graphics cards to display some of the images needed for a 3d interface. One thing I really think its coming sooner than all this aspects mentioned before: is accesing social networks throw mobile devices like cell phones for example.

How the social networking model is applied to business will determine whether it becomes the next office collaboration tool or the latest Web app to get blocked at the firewall.

I dont really think that will be a big one. mostly because this sort of thing requires that you buy equipment to use it. I think that'll turn off alot of people.
