Hi. I am looking for the following financial services:

-Banking services in the UK and US (live in UK this year, but probably mostly in US later on), administered conveniently online. (Currently with HSBC in UK and PNC in US, both have OK online banking but heavy security makes it very annoying to use. I can secure my own computer so that isn't a concern.)

-Very-low-fee investments in global tracker funds (equities mainly, also currencies, property markets, commodities etc to allow for more diversification).

-Some knowledge of US and UK taxes, especially UK taxes seem stupidly complex and I don't want to get caught out.

Can anyone recommend companies that provide these services? Ideally it would be one company rather than 6 but

I won't be trading much, just setting a ratio of risky to risk-free investments and spreading out the risky investments evenly around the world, and maybe adjusting once a year if it needs re-balancing.

I looked into Ameritrade when I lived in the US last but they said they'd have to close the account if I moved away from the US. E-trade looks good and offers banking in the US but international investing for non-US residents seems very limited.

I would recommend etrade for the brokerage.
