There's many good trading platforms, search online for some independent reviews & articles they will usually point you in the right direction!

In my opinion Metatrader 4 is a pretty good trading platform which is used by a lot of brokers.

Try it!

Agree about metatrader4 its commonly used and versatile. a bit like windows but without all the problems!

i see two key aspects to trading..selecting entry and exit points and psychology..
use a demo account to see how good u r picking entry and exits but then to see if u really have the traders temprament start off with a mini / micro acccount.. check these guys out they offer mini/micro on MT4.. WSD global markets
but start off with the demo dont get carried away opening an account without trying thiings out.

You didn't mention clearly what do you want to trade. The best way to trade, it's up to what you are trading. The ways are different from field to field. I like the source that dannyson1 offered and the instruction from pipmanager. Useful to us!

I have question for futures traders. I am currently using the InfinityAT platform. I am checking out Global Futures and they have many different platforms. Do they have one that has a ladder similar to the one I am using with Infinity? I went to their website and tried to look at the different platform but it didn't look like they had a ladder. I am sure they do I just couldn't find it. I would call them but I just don't feel like talking to a broker right now.

I agree MT4 platforms are usually very good, easy to use, quick execution and compatible with most EAs and automated trading software.

Best way to discover a trading platform that suits you the best is to try several of them. MT4 is a great trading platform, but you may prefer some platform that is online based.

The more important factor when choosing a broker is the spread, than the leverage, etc.

In my opinion the est way is to cover smaller pips and trade maximum. In this way you can make huge money without any problems. This will also minimise the risk and will make you earn huge.
