e-gold is getting alive !
why use e-gold? it's not safe.... there are lot's of better e-currencies

I Still use my E-Gold account but i limit the numbers of transactions
i make because that way one won't have any problems having ones
account blocked.

They've had my whole state blocked for 2 years.

Don't be so assured, it will be very hard for e-gold to come back. And even if this will happen, Liberty Reserve took it's place of most popular payment processor, so it will be very hard for e-gold to restore it's position.

I suspect this may have all come too late to save it, but who knows. This is a statement from their founder made some time ago after their legal issues.

In harmony with this transformation, we acknowledge that e-gold is indeed a Financial Institution or Agency as defined in US law and should be regulated as a Financial Institution. E-gold Ltd. has submitted an application to FinCEN to be registered as a Money Services Business and will be seeking licensure in all states that require it. Most importantly, working in conjunction with US government agencies, we will be exerting every effort to bring e-gold into compliance with US law and regulation as quickly as possible.

I think E-GOLD can't get back to us.
JeffSTX
Well how can they legally keep my five hundred dollars?

Even states that are easy to obtain a license (eg. pay $XXXX fee and show balance sheet with $XXX,XXX or more) are blocked. They clearly have no intent on resuming normal operations.
JeffSTX
Yeah well why is the United States government allowing them to keep the money?
LBH
i think e-gold is strong and it will come back.
Antares
How do you verify your id? I have already scanned and contacted the support group since last week, but still no reply.
JeffSTX
I don't know, I've tried 5 times and it never worked. And they also have to get licensed in your state or spend access will stay restricted. I don't know how they don't get sued for trying to keep all the millions of dollars people have with them.
slogoldinc
i do not think egold will ever return
JeffSTX
Yeah but I don't know how they can legally keep our money especially since their headquarters are in the USA. They wont accept the information you give them and when people complain they delete their accounts.

Managed to upload half my ID docs last week when they were online, now down for "maintenance" for last few days.

Fell very little confidence that they will be back with a smooth upgrade, looks like the dying throes of a wounded beast!

Remember if you had any money in the 1MDC account within e-gold, that all evaporated with the US court case.

They really need to get their act together if they want to give legitimate users of gold currency an active gold account

i thought that e-gold will never come back.. but here they are! wink.gif

E-gold is back? Do you know something the rest of us don't? Still no way to spend or out-exchange, verified accounts or not.

e-gold Update: Value Access
As e-gold Users are aware, by agreement with relevant authorities including the U.S. Department of Justice, e-gold has suspended all e-metal Spend activity subject to meeting certain licensing requirements. As a result, e-gold Users have been unable to engage in any transactions, including exchanges, that would require either receiving or making an e-metal Spend from the accounts they control.

We are, however, working diligently to develop a means by which account Owners will be able to access the value in their account. Included in this effort have been intensive discussions with various US Federal and State government authorities, including the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, the state where e-gold’s Operator is located. We hope in the very near future to finalize a Value Access Plan that satisfies the requirements of the Office, at which point we will engage with other jurisdictions where e-gold Owners reside. Subject to the prerequisite discussed below, the Value Access Plan will allow account Users on accounts with Owners residing in jurisdictions in which the Plan is not prohibited or otherwise restricted by law to direct the exchange of value in the e-gold accounts they control for US dollars.

The prerequisite to participation in e-gold’s Value Access Plan is full compliance with e-gold’s Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requirements for the accounts you control. For additional information on this topic, please click here.

Further updates will be announced as they become available via the e-gold blog; therefore, please visit regularly.
