Ok, since we're on the subject and I too am invested in stormy...If you are going to bring your own processor into the equation, how can we ensure that the big bad USA won't interfere with that? Did I hear correctly that you are located in Canada as well? So you intend to put the payment processor you are setting up in Canada too? I hate how the US is always in everyone's business but we have to look at the situation realistically. I am not trying to tell you how to run things, just bring up something that really needs to be addressed. I want to drop big money in here and haven't done that with anyone since 12dailypro.
Are their loopholes to avoid Uncle Sam bullying everyone? They seem to be on the role lately with this CRAP. Yep, that's because everyone is getting paid ON TIME without excuses! I can just smell my payouts coming...
Terra already had lawyers check her business model to assure compliance with Canadian laws. The US cannot mess with her. Yes, they can try to stop her from doing business with US citizens, but that would be hard to do. An example of that is that the US has passed laws about online gambling (making it illegal), but they cannot go anywhere and shut down sites, they can really only punish US residents who break that law here. I can tell you that I do not know of one site or even one person who has yet been stopped by this law. It is hardly possible for them to enforce this type of thing. Of course, they really do not care about the gambling, they just want their hand in the pie to collect some money (taxes). It does seem that the US is a bit of a bully sometimes, but that is primarily in things that relate to terrorist activities. E-gold has an office in Florida, which has been "raided" at least once. They have corporate paperwork that registers them in Nevis (I believe it is.) Alertpay is based in Canada, which WOULD keep them safe from the alphabet agencies unless it could be substantiated that they were somehow involved in some way with terrorists. What makes them more vulnerable is because they also maintain an office in the US, so that is the weakness with Alertpay. The US is a very powerful country, but they are not God and they cannot reach past our borders in unreasonable, illegal ways. Other countries will cooperate in the fight against terrorists and their related activities, but that is ONLY because it also helps protect them from the same things.
Oh yeah - I got paid today! Dancing, dancing........all the way to the bank!

Not really.....just back to e-gold to reinvest!!
Thank you for your explanation. This is what I was looking for. I know damn well US isn't God...and thank GOD for that because we'd all be in all be in trouble! I like Terra's style and that is why I am invested here and will continue to invest here. I did forget to mention WHY I was so worried about ALERTPAY and it IS because of their location in the US. Thank you for the clarification. Uncle Sam is greedier than hell and we ALL know what was up with the Stormpay thing. SEC =ASS's. I am glad for the legal stance Terra is taking but we know damn well the US can be really shady in how they get things done and this is why I asked the question. All do respect as I am a US citizen, but our government is a bully in more things than just terrorism. Anyway, I can tell the people I've been trying to get to invest in here to come on in! Don't want to make this thread a political debate. Congrats on your payment, I'll be dancin' with ya in about 4 days.

Yes our processor will be 100% canuck!
Not only that, but we are also going to put our headquarters and office for the new payment processor( name will be coming soon ! ) on a native reservation, where even OUR federal governenment can't touch it ! In Canada, native reserves are like another country, stuff that happens on reserve, can't be touched by the government of Canada. In my province , smoking is banned in public places, and the local casinos took a big hit, so what did the natives do ? They started opening native run casinos on reserves where smokers can get around the laws and smoke their brains out. Also, income made on a reserve is tax free money, so we will be getting around paying taxes too. It is really important to take every precaution, we have lawyers working on making sure no laws are broken, and putting business on the reserve is the same as taking it offshore.
We have to make sure we are here for the long term, and we are taking steps to do that. Thank God for my status card even though I am 75% british and as white as rice !

Gosh Terra, you almost make me want to shave my head bald and dance naked around a statue of you.
I am glad to find this trusted site to help recoup my 12dp loss. I bought some shares recently. I have been reading this thread but haven't found what I am curious to know. This is a shares co op for a gambling biz, ok. Where is Terra based and will the program be in danger have having the sec involved? I want to buy in more but am worried re the third party inteference. Thanks.
PL
It depends on where you live Peacelily, whether Stormysurf is offshore for you or not.....as it is run by a gal who lives in Canada.....and the buisness is in Canada, too.
From what has been indicated elsewhere in this thread....the Sec has no jurisdiction over a Canadian buisness

Wow that sounds great, Terra, good thinking! Will that money made on the reserve tax free just for your buisness or will that apply to those of us purchasing shares as well?
Sure hope you get it done soon before the money you are dealing with becomes too big for EG to handle. Letting someone do over $5000 in a day ( like that $8000 customer you have ) will surely be a red flag for them soon.
Hi Terra and fellow members. I just tried to send and egold payment and it keeps telling me:
Cannot preview spend, the error is: Payee Account Number (2861050 ) is missing or invalid.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I have not had that happen, but I see that frequently in this thread. It is usually that you have a blank space either before or after the account number. Seems to mostly happen when people cut and paste the account number. I find it easiest when you log in to your egold account and go to the spend page, at the bottom is a drop down that shows your last twenty payees, so I can always get to stormysurf their.

Hi Atlanticblue, if you are typing it in, make sure there is not a space before the 2, ie ( 2861050). It should be put in without a space like this (2861050). Hope this helps.

How will it work when they start the new payment processor? How can we fund it,how will we receive payments? I know these are silly questions, but i'm confused about this issue!

Thanks Pamelasue and Justdoit. You were both absolutely correct, once I removed the space, it went through just fine. Pamelasue, as you said, I copied and pasted. Many thanks for the tip on using the drop down screen.
What a great bunch of people in here, what a great family!!!
Are you asking if it is easy? The answer to that is: 89% seem to think so, with 7% percent responding that it is not at all easy, while the remaining 4% were too busy to respond because they were checking their e-gold account repeatedly for a payment.
But, if you're asking if it is that easy: Yep - it's that easy.
Boy, isn't that the truth!
Guess who came in to dance? Yep, paid again!

Terra, I think the plan to set up on a Reservation is just about the smartest and coolest thing I have ever heard of. What good planning and thinking. YES!!!
If you lived in the USA, I would print up bumper stickers that said, TERRA FOR PRESIDENT!
Boy, everybody will be running to get PO Boxes on the rez now!

congrats on Your payment. Me too, i'm waiting for my first payment.
Atlantic-Rose (Linda), A point of clarification, FYI: e-gold's fee can be more or less than 1%, depending on the size of the payment you receive. The amount is usually .76-.80 cents (varies slightly in that range), whether the payment you receive is $10 or $10,000. At $10, .76-.80 cents is between 7-8%, but at $10,000, it would be .007-.008% - other than e-Bullion (and other, less popular PPs such as Liberty Reserve), which charges nothing on a per-payment basis, e-gold is unbeatable when it comes to the matter of fees.
Thank you Andrew! Their rates do sound much better! Just tried to fund e-gold again through AP (should know better since they're closed on weekend...but I keep hoping). Still can't, though it now says available e-gold .80 USD and it was .00 USD yesterday.

No worries there - there aren't any publicly disclosed statistics on this, but it is reasonable to estimate e-gold's daily volume at millions (probably tens of millions) of dollars, on average. Not taking anything away from StormySurf, it's contribution is but a drop in the bucket.
On $8k per day: just remember the old Wall Street truism - "Bulls make money; Bears make money; but Pigs get slaughtered". And no, I'm not talking about actual animals - it's a metaphor. And yes, I realize that there are no Bears in the world of HYI. And no, "Pigs get slaughtered" is not intended as a death threat to the $8k/day contributor.

I'm not an Alertpay member, so I'm a bit out of the loop when it comes to exactly what is going on there. From what I've read - here and elsewhere - it seem Alertpay's e-gold reserves are entirely depleted. Is this because a scenario similar to what has happened here (mass transition from AP to e-gold) has happened at other programs that were formerly major AP merchants? In that case, has there been a run on AP's e-gold holdings, then? They did begin e-gold withdrawals only 2 weeks ago, so perhaps their initial supply simply wasn't sufficient to meet the demand, and they will be receiving more gold early this coming week, keeping more on-hand in the future to satisfy requests.

Hi PeaceLily and welcome to this thread! There was no gambling site when I joined. It is simply a money making co-op. The gambling site came later and is just one of the ways the site is supported.
Terra is based in Winnipeg, CANADA. You won't have to worry about U.S. authorities. Also, when she set this up, she had her lawyer review everything so there wouldn't be any problems. While nothing is 100% stable in a high risk arena like this, SSS is as stable as is possible. The admin is honest and very, very capable.
Just remember the two golden rules: never invest more than you can afford to lose, and pull your seed money out as soon as possible and just work with the profits....then there is no risk. Once you have your seed money back, you can't lose, no matter what happens. Only gain.

It has been my experience that this happens sometimes when you copy and paste the e-gold number of the payee. Try typing the e-gold number instead of copying and pasting, it should help.

I'm glad to see an admin thinking ahead too. Sometimes I feel some make quick decisions that end up being detrimental to their program. Now I will definitely put a nice chunk in here.

Here are some questions that might set everyone at ease:
1. When Terra starts her new PP, will she still allow Egold?
2. What types of funding is she going to allow (i.e. CC, bank wires, bank ACH transfers, money orders, etc...)?
3. What types of withdrawals (bank wires, debit card, bank ACH transfers, checks, ecurrency, etc...)?
4. Fees, will they be comparable to others?
I know that there may not be definate answers to some of the above questions, however, it would be nice to at least know what the vision is.
I know personaly I would like to see something that would allow me to do a transfer between my bank with an ACH transfer. This is probably my biggest concern. One the processor being shut down with either loss of funds or trying to find one to get the funds back to me and second something that would be a little quicker than up to 7 days. Working in a bank, I know that ACH transfers don't take that long. I have seen some done within 24 hours and others take no more than 4 days.
Something else that would be nice is in the verification process, the member has to sign a form to be kept on file, not holding the PP responsible and not allowing chargebacks. I know that alot would not like this, but whether a person is scammed or not, we all take a chance in getting involved with HYIPs or surfs.

I'm certainly more of a forum lurker, viewing them as an information resource rather than a community gathering place. But, I do admit to being sucked in by the occasional thread - take this one, for example.
