I have been using the MT4 software on a $5000 demo account for around a week and have made a "profit" of just over $1000 doing only buy trades on the EUR/USD pair.
Im now looking for a respectable and honest broker to open a real account with that has a proven track record for being a honest broker service, i also require the broker to accept Paypal and have a minimum opening balance of around $250
If any experienced traders can point me in the right direction i would be greatful.

Stick with Oanda.com if you have low start-up capital. If you insist on using Mt4, maybe you can continue to use the demo account to look out for signals and place your live trades at Oanda.
Btw, you can use PayPal to fund your account in Oanda as well.

You can find such brokers anywhere through the internet. First of all you have to trade on Demo account and then make a decision to trade with it or not.

Well, I have not tried them all, but I think Oanda and FXCM are still number 1 - They have been around for a while, and have a large capital cap.
Hope that helped

Oanda is number one for me. You don't need a large capital, the spreads are reasonable - except during the news - and it's quick to respond.

I manage Forex accounts for personal clients and I use FxPro . I suggest FxPro cause spreads are slow, they use MT4, accepts paypal and minimum deposit is only $100.

I use Real Trade Group. For me it is suitable. And thankfully my broker fulfills every norms and has quite satisfactory returns. They use RT4, that is identical to MT4.
It's really good to try different brokers with different platforms, because experience is the most important. But after trying, I think, it's better to find THE ONE, that suits you best - who has a reputation in the financial market, where the customer care support is very good and of course, it must be safe and reliable!

That’s right. This is a policy of Paypal.
