I'm wondering how you all like the MMG Cash Giveaway contests so far?

The MMG admins are kind enough to put up the prize money and allow
us mods to run our own contests.

That's pretty awesome, don't you think?

We really enjoying the contests, a lot of daily Fun and knowledges.

From all the contests out there, i mostly like the contests of Realist. By answering the questions you gather a maximum of informations within a little time frame ...

I also prefer if ~fishie~ return to its amazing contests, honestly i liked so much her first contest because she is very funny and she know how to bring the smile to our faces

I think that the presents contests are correctly varied and we welcome any new ideas by admins or members.

It`s just a pity we don`t get even more participants. Easy money for just a few minutes work. And , good fun too.

But then I want to give a suggestion on how to improve the product what's being delivered..

People participate in contests when they see any chance for themselves winning and we must and should understand how people love winning themselves and hate to lose even if they're superfast.. Everyone should have a chance to win..

And for this reason, when they see regular contest lovers, they hate to come on this place as they know they would lose ultimately.

I dunno if I'm suggesting it right or not, but there should be something like "MAXIMUM" number of winners and not maximum number of PRIZE to one winner..

The meaning of my above sentence is only that..

1) If there are 10 questions being asked( each for 1$=10persons=10$), he should be given 3 chances, i.e. if the person gives 3 right answers, he may not be able to participate even if he gives the right answer, the person below him shall win the contest.

If somearrangement of that sort is made, then people take much interest as they see themselves chance of winning as there are lot of experts in this contests zone to be very frank..some people have less internet speeds and some people have good internet speed, so I think I prefer equal chance..

1 formula to make this success is.

more winners =more crowd

less winners=less crowd..

Thanks for your suggestion, amrutrk. Ok, that`s something we`ll need to consider in future contests.

In the daily-type cash giveaway contests I`ve now made it so that those I look after will have someone winning a maximum of three times in any one day. That way all members will have more of a chance of winning, especially those with slower Internet connections.

Also, once an answer is given, no member will be allowed to edit the reply. This is to avoid the possibility of cheating. Any member found editing will be disqualified from that particular day`s contests.

seems like realist contest is too fast since they always start and end while I'm sleeping. must be a different time zone I guess

I`ll try to start and end them later on sometimes, so that it gives everyone a chance to take part.

Hula, your last contest of searching the cards is so easy. IMO, you made tow mistakes :

1- you didn't changed the name of the cards when placing them somewhere else in the forum, because as noob-investor said it just need to use the search engine of the forum to find the cards ... you see ? ... easy as 1 2 3

2- I think that you should place the cards in a very old threads in MMG and in the middle of long threads eg. 12DP thread in page 1xxx, besides it should be in no active threads so the members will take so long to find the cards ... may be they should be lucky enough to visit such threads

Anyway, i hope next time it would be so HOT contests!!!

It`s nice to through our poll that the vast majority of our members like our contests. Please keep your votes, and comments, coming.

Yeah, I forgot that members could look up the graphic info.

It's hard to come up with contests that present any kind of challenge.

Most members have learned to look up just about anything on the net
so the winner will always be the one with the fastest look up skills and
the quickest PC.

...might I add that members don't seem very pleased with contests in which the
answers are NOT quickly found

So, I guess no contest can please everyone. As you can see, the ones who are unhappy
with the contest being over too quickly are also the ones who are unhappy when it goes
for a long time.

Why you only give cash away to LR account. What about Alertpay or Paypal account?

Well, we really want to keep our contest account separate from others, so we think it`s best just to use the service which we think many members will already have, which is LR.

From time to time we`ll be holding a monthly draw in which members can post in a thread and the winner will win one month`s free Upgrade to Supporter.

If an existing MMG Supporter wins that month he/she, will have a month added to their membership.

I am a creature of habit as are a lot of folks. When I come to MMG I have my favorite sections and threads I look for. I didn't even know about this section. I did enter one contest because a dear friend told me about it.

Maybe if you could make this section description Green or Red....something that would stand out from the rest of the sections. And maybe a sticky on top of all the sections linking to the contests will get greater participation.

I don't know if it's possible but I like it.

We did mention this new folder along with a few others a couple of months ago in a members` Newsletter which was sent out. Admittedly, some might have not received it for whatever reason.

More players, so more contests. May be realist should pick exact days per week for contests ... and i see that Hula, Fishy and Yippee are not that much active in this folder ... it is time to start thinking in a way to bring more members to this folder

Well we want our contests to be open to all, and much depends on how busy we are at the time as to when we can start a contest. I never know day to day what I`m doing fully, so I can`t preplan which days I`ll be holding a contest.

The other thing of course is that many of our members visit the forum virtually every day, and we don`t really want it so that some members only come to the forum just to take part in the contests.

Love the idea.....smart move...way to go MMG

Realist, Where is the questions contests ? ... we are missing them

I`ll probably set some questions tomorrow, certainly before the weekend.

May be its time to talk about how is doing this folder so far. I think that the contests are being more boring here, the guess contests are more of luck contests and its not encouraging to be more active. Besides this type of contests should be followed since the beginning, because if join later on the number of pages make it so difficult to analyze the previous guesses.

I make an appeal to Realist to back again the themed/questions contests, because there is where i feel i'm using my mind

We do try to have a mix of contests. Sometimes it can be down to time constraints. Those with themes where replies to specific questions have to be followed quite closely, whereas those with number guesses can be left for a while.

My own view is to just take part in those you like.

We recently posted about the forum admins giving $1 for all Supporter Upgrades made between now and the end of December.

The total will be sent to the charity which has got the most votes in a poll to be held soon. Please feel free to nominate any charities you`d like the proceeds to goto which will be added to the poll.

Finally, if any winners of our contests during that time period would like their winnings to be added to the Upgrades money, rather than it being sent to their LR Ac., just mention that in the Contest thread.
