Hi, I have recently joined a MLM business where you build downlines. I am having great trouble getting downlines to join - any ideas on what I can do? I want to promote this through the Internet rather than hassle friends and family as they already think I'm mad for doing this. However, my sponsor tells me I can obtain financial freedom through this method. But How? I would love some help to get going. I have purchased some information which I have yet to receive, only hope that it is worthwhile and not just a scam of information. There are so many "reports" on how to increase downlines out there - what is good and what is just nonsense? Anyone have any experiences to help? thanks

You CAN make money in MLM. One key is to stay persistant and don't let yourself get frustrated with all the negative people that say it doesn't work. Do something every day for your business, keep it up for at least a year, and you'll be successful. Also, don't expect to be making $3500/month after 15 minutes or even after two months. Have real expectations.

Don't do the same mistakes that I did before. When I started out with MLM, I spent thousands of dollars to get on the top - as most MLM companies will do - they will ask you to get on the higher level where you will buy more products and they tell you that you will be able to sell all of those products and you will earn more commissions. One time I spent $4,000 for products for weight loss. The company told me that there are so many people who need to lose weight and the products will go fast.

Well, I thought they might be right - because you can see by just looking around that there are so many overweight people that should be needing some help. I tried and tried to sell the products - even tried to sell them at my wholesale prices - but there were very few buyers.

I did 3 different MLM with products that you have to buy and re-sell. None of them worked for me.

I am now just doing internet businesses where I don't have to buy the merchandise and have them on stock in my garage. My internet businesses nowadays are simple - where I don't need to supply the products. No monthly cost, very easy to sell.

My advice to you is please, please be very careful.

I agree with the Project Payday program; that is a really fast way to make some money online, but you will be required to complete advertising offers people in order to obtain your reward. You can get anywhere from $20 - $40 payable to your PayPal. Obviously, with the higher payouts you would need to participate in a few more advertising offers.

Regarding the MLM businesses, I disagree with the above comment. Not all MLM businesses are the same. You really need to look at each and every opportunity and decide if it is for you, its marketability, and set realistic goals for yourself. If you are into MLM you are building a business; there are no overnight riches with these programs. What is attractive about MLM businesses is the residual income they offer vs. affiliate programs where you are paid a one-time commission on a sale or a signup.

But back to the main question about building an MLM downline; I do not know what program you entered into, but what I would suggest is to attempt to get people to find you. You need to remember you are on the world wide web and nobody is going to come knocking on your door if they cannot locate you; so you need to make yourself a home. A home could be a blog, a website, a HubPage, a Squidoo lens, a social networking site, etc. You need to locate an anchor and start from there. Once you find your anchor you need to market it and learn how to draw attention to it. I am confident there is much information here at MMG that will allow you to learn how to do that. Patience is definitely key to all this. Allow yourself to make mistakes because you will, but above all else, just stick with it and it will eventually come.

honestly, i would say go affiliate marketing. MLM is tough, complicated, and really worked about 10 years ago.

Thank you all for your replies and advice, I really appreciate it. The MLM business I have gone into is one where you don't have to buy loads of stock to then try and sell. Your main objective is to get people to join under you and they buy their own stock from the company. The company is only selling the one product which I really believe in and have known people personally to benefit from so it does work (the product that is). I just need a way to get people to join me - the system is a great one if only I could get started somehow. Thanks again.

Also, I did have a look at the Project Payday which you suggested and unfortunately it is only available to the US and Canada, no good to me as I am in Australia. We always miss out on stuff. Thanks guys - if there is anything else available worldwide I would be interested. And I an not looking for a get rich quick scheme because I know they don't work and would only turn all my friends away from me which I don't want.

I just wanted to add... I wish you the best. I've been in and out of MLM for the last 5-10 years or so and have made very little. Trying to build a downline is extremely tough, especially when your family is 100% against you. Good Luck!

MLM is good business but difficult to get member. I think to get member your could improve your communication skill and try to sell your product. you must to try if so fail you must try again. just learning by doing

Although MLM is a low cost way to get into your own business, if you don't know how to sell, you better have a product or service that you only have to tell people about, not sell. It all starts with value, if you cannot offer a product with true verifiable value, never mind one that serves the masses, forget it, it is nearly impossible to expect to succeed. It takes most years of experience to reach the point of financial freedom. I prefer free distributorship opportunities, then look for real value, then quality, then look for mass appeal, the rest is a matter of due diligence on company, management and reputation of your sponsor. Without these ingredients in place, MLM or any sales related business is not as easy as most make it sound.

There are many issues with MLM/Network Marketing which have caused very divided opinions. Certainly the myth of it being Get Rich Qucik or easy has been well and trully blown.

There are successful people, though, where there are good products provided by ethical companies, and when it learns to harness properly the pwer of the internet there will be a new coming.

Thats old school.I have found building relationships on the internet and finding serious business builders. unlike you most newbies to mlm are not serious business builders. concentrate on those wanting to build income streams, not mlm oppportunities.
